I would go on about PC crap if it wasn't relevant. What is one of the major condemnations of Trump? It's that he is a racist and a mysogynist!

This is the picture of him painted by our media and a PC culture which takes any misstatement very literally and cries gotcha - racist!

By your own admission you take things literally. You detect no hyperbole or metaphors in Trumps speech?

Exaggeration is not such an unusual thing for American culture. Well not in the past at least - today we are all very very serious. Very very careful not to make a verbal misstep. We also have got into the habit of not making anyone accountable for anything because it might stress them or hurt their feelings.
Do you know what birtherism is?

To understand this you need to think like a 12 year old...join the words in the manner in which they appear on the page... look out the window for a couple of minutes, and presto!
Oil, Russia, money, deal. Me.
ExxonMobil is the definition of crooked multinational of globalisation and Rex Tillerson the archetype of the type of globalist that was supposedly pulling the strings of Hillary Clinton. Rather than going through the fraud of appointing a politician who has been bought by the oil industry, Trump went ahead and literally appointed the leader of the US oil industry to run America's and arguably the worlds most important diplomatic organisation. Merely asking for consistency.

I question that. Does all communication require a media analysis to make sense of it? Trump has communicated political positions to his audience while the conservative and liberal print media were hostile to those positions.

How does your understanding of culture leave you to interpret these two tweets?
As everyone does - the statements themselves are only understood thru a cultural prism. All of us are products of a specific set of well known opinions. Most of us refer those tweets back thru our own filter speak to friends peers - listen to our preferred media.

We turn on the radio tv and various narratives we are comfortable with are reiterated at infinitum.

At some point we think those narratives are our very own thoughts

Or something like that

Basically a verbose way of explaining core, and non core promises. Sociology students are usually full of shit anyway, isn't that the usually narrative?

Where you as vigilant and as outraged when Bush ran with his Halliburton war mongering VP - just curious?

And do you feel Cheney attracted the same volume of global criticism this appointment is generating?
Eh?

This appointment is being met with relief by most of the established media because it means that the Trump team is just going to be another Republican oil-based foreign policy Presidency.

The comedy shows and the liberal press are having a few halfhearted prods but nothing major. Cheney was savaged by the liberal press at every turn, and also some of the religious and "paleo" conservative press because of his radical views on America's role in the world.

What a load of garbage that is

You keep going on about "PC" and "bias media" yet you are the one who's choosing to see things that fits your own bias narrative, yet again more projection

Btw if you really think Donald Trump's tweets need that much interpretation coz they're clearly an excerpt of the Da Vinci code then you might need help
Please, it's 'biased'.

I think I've been vocally supportive of Trump.

Do you also need a lesson on the word closet?
Oh good, so at least you admit you aren't hiding (even though you kinda were when I said you are a rightie then you said you weren't.... so you are really hiding..... hence closet...)

Well since you're a Trump supporter I think you're the one that's in need of lessons on everything the most

I feel pretty badly for people like you who see things in such binary terms.

'You like Trump therefore you're a RIGHTIE!!11!!'

How do you explain that I've always voted Labor or Greens in Australia, and will continue to do so? Does that make me a 'leftie'?

Cheney was never accused of being a foreign agent.

So you are in support of a man who used far right rhetoric to get elected as president while blatantly looking after corporate interest yet still claim your own ideology as consistent and not in any way right wing. It's not about binary terms at this stage, it's about being ****** in the head and confused.

Like one of those crazy Bernie Bros who would vote Trump

As a wiser man than I once said, 'I know that I know nothing'. I've found it enlightening to realise that in relation to politics, I'm cognitively dissonant. A lot of my beliefs seem paradoxical, yet why lie to myself and others that everything I believe follows a particular paradigm?

I certainly don't think that anyone who considers themselves from an opposing view is 'stuffed in the head' though.

I do, however, support Trump taking a harder stance on China, a nation where 'progress' is considered reducing executable offences from 55 to a mere 46 in 2015.

In all sincerity though, I just wanted you to avoid the exceedingly common mistake of using bias instead of biased.
