She was only cleared a week or two before the election, & before that the finding was that she had been "extremely carless" with classified information. That's a story, it's not a non event. The villification of Mexicans was a false narrative in my, and a lot of others opinions - his stance has always been against illegal immigrants, not legal ones. Plenty of hispanics voted for him, especially the Cubans in Florida.
The fact that Hillary and her mates were "extremely careless" cost them the office. They were easily hacked, and as a result the hackers leaked information throughout the campaign. Hillary and co have themselves to blame. The people of the United States should be thankful that the Democrats are out of office. They were careless, and that potentially (or even most likely) put their country at risk. So Donald gets his turn. Hopefully he is an improvement.

Yes the military is used to protect energy companies. That s when politics is working.
But none of that reaps the profits actual war does. That's when mega profits are made from all angles

I can't believe I need to spell that out either.
I'm glad that after a page of shifting arguments you eventually agree that your original post -
You need find more distinctions- big oils interest are not necessary aligned with warmongering quite the opposite - usually.
- was absolute nonsense.

The US military, the US oil industry, oil client states (Saudi Arabia etc) and the Republican party and its foreign policy establishment are all intertwined and serve each others purposes.

The fact that you think it's a good thing that the US military is used to secure the profits of billionaire oil barons I find quite illustrating. Why exactly is "when politics is working" that the US military is invading other countries to secure access to oil fields for its private companies?

You continue to find fault with me because you insist on a shallow sweeping analysis to prove yourself right.

I'd rather think of it as a simplification of complex forces. You on the other hand are demonstrating a classic case of obfuscation when presented with inconvenient facts. I'll let you in on a secret, I'm not a huge fan of Hillary Clinton either. However I'm able to separate my feelings on the Clinton political dynasty from my analysis of Trumps appointments so far.

But I will grant you that my Oil political matrix may be relatively shallow analysis but realistically that's all you're going to get on a football forum bud unless you're lucky enough to catch Betty Noir in full flight on a night when he's overdone the uppers and can't sleep.

Fortunately for me, my premise is 100% right, and so far you've failed to answer any of the questions I've posed to you while you have been backtracking at a sprint.

It's ok to be wrong. Even Betty Noir is wrong sometimes.

Thank you.

I'm happy to engage in any good faith debate if you answer any or all of these questions I posed to you earlier:

What does it say about the Trump Presidency that he has appointed an oil baron with a history of funding organised climate change denial and crony capitalism on an international scale to head the State Department?

Should the US military be used to subsidise the security arrangements of private oil interests such as ExxonMobil?

Should the US military be used to open access to resources for private interests such as ExxonMobil?

Says more about you that you would enjoy seeing others unhappy instead of having concern about the direction of the Western world.

Why do the alt right care soo much about upsetting liberals?
Cause it's bloody hilarious. Just finished watching the Young Turks Election Day coverage. All 12 hours of it. From smug arrogance to downright despair. Brilliant viewing

You have people in here sympathetic to Putin.

Which is also wrong and stupid.
Chief, I think in fairness plenty just recognise that Obama/Hilary made a dog's breakfast of this and backed jihadis whilst telling everyone they were "moderate".

IMO the argument is Putin is a campaigner but a reasonably competent crooked campaigner.

Obama on the other hand is just a useless campaigner and Hilary is just a useless crooked campaigner.

I don't doubt your tale and it seems to ring true with most of the commentary surrounding the Clinton/Trump race. Many many people were angry and disillusioned with the ''corporate politics'' of America and rightly looked for an alternative.

But to suggest the crying and whining from the Trump camp would be any less is disarming. I suspect DT would have smashed apart America in his quest for ''truth''.
The guy won and won't stop crying and whining.

He is the embodiment of entitlement and conceit. Not to mention deceit.

Trump is just plain old crooked, dishonest and unstable. Not sure which one is worse.

By the way, couldn't find the book you recommended and have ordered 'Putin's kleptocracy' by Karen Dawisha instead.

Would Obama have mentioned their apparent "election hacking" if Hillary won?
I expect most of the hacks that take place don't get public attention unless one party (as in one side) feel it is politically advantageous for them to release it.

Dozens a year, slipping under the radar so we can hear more about Kim Kardashian's fat arse.

i think we largely agree

its just that i think trump / clinton would continue the slide towards oligarchy / fascism where you reckon hes some kind of magical superhero
Nah I just hope he breaks the mold, ie is different but already the house republicans are threatening to block his agenda re TTP, tax cuts etc.

I suspect he will get chewed up by the system but at least their is a glimmer of hope, whereas under Clinton there would have been none.
