Who is (or was) Greens manager?

To go from demanding $500K/year to being delisted by the spoon favourites is a pretty big fall from grace.

I wonder if there is any way Green can sue his manager for this. At some point they need to take responsibility.

It is (was) his career. Sounds like should have taken more responsibility for it himself.

It could have been Greeny's idea. Not everything is decided by the manager.

I find it damning that the club has been running with the 500k as the reason to get rid of him. Not even a mention of negotiations. It's like we were looking for any excuse to get rid of the lazy bloke. I found it pretty funny that Greens manager came out publicly and pleaded with the club to take him but by then we had already made our minds up. He was a bad influence and I found it extremely annoying as a supporter that Green was getting paid while putting in half the effort required. It got so bad it was a running joke within the club...

No one is laughing anymore!

Too bad that joke was the only one doing the running

From current AFL.com.au article

"McDonald said Green had paused negotiations on a potential three-year deal to assess where his football future would be best served after a slow start to the season, and not due to a pay dispute, as reports claimed on Tuesday."

But thx Greenie and Macca you make an incredible combination. You saved us money on mediocrity

After 6 years on the list, he should have become a leader on the park for our young squad. Seems like he was anything but that. A standard has been set, our footy club is not a gee up anymore. Cannot wait to see and hear the expectations being placed on our group. You raise the bar and many will rise to the challenge. Greeny is destined to become a TFL 100 goal a season forward, sitting in the bar retelling stories of playing in big stadiums in front of big crowds and lifting the roof every time he kicked a sausage roll. The punters are going to love him!

He had 3 years on the table. Didnt take it to see where his footy might end up. At least tasmanias main comp will be happy to get him back.

Unfortunate for Green that during his time with us he wasnt challeneged to reach his potential. He has a really good feel for footy, just doesnt have the fitness or commitment to make it happen.

Ultimately the club failed him. Our inability to develop, set standards and get the best of players is really starting to hit us hard. Glad to finally see the wheels of change starting to move.

Was great as the SUB player, could come on and give it his all for 30 to 40 minutes, once they got rid of that, it was when changes needed to be made and sadly they weren't

Dont necessarily agree with this.
I grew up training and competing in a completely different sport unrelated to footy. But what i learnt is that some people just do not have the drive to train at a required level. Talent alone, will only get you so far. You may be able get away with it during junior years, but once you hit the big time, if you are not prepared to work for it then you will find yourself falling behind.
Encouragement and pushing people to work hard when they are not accustomed to doing so, will only work for short periods of time as they will always fall back into their bad and life time habits.
Josh Green failed himself. The club is not responsible for everything.

How do you know this? That's a big assumption. I'd argue on the contrary, it's because he was challenged and historically proven he was not capable to raise to the challenge that he finds himself on the precipice of a glorious TFL career.
What I find amazing is that we would offer a three year contract and even more amazing is that Green would knock it back. We speak of culture change and so on, but this indicates we are not there yet. The Green situation it appears to be simply very fortuitous for us, it was not a planned clearing of the under-performing and recalcitrant elements of the team.

Sorry, disagree here. He is supposed to be a professional athlete and its not as if there isn't enough information provided to them in regards to being able to reach these standards by putting place what is required. This comes back to the individual not the club. The only part that I can agree with is about the club not being able to 'enforce' the standards required but again this needs to be player driven. Horse to water situation.

Unfortuantley as a club, we've failed a lot of players and also in a lot of other areas. Agree it's good to see some change happening.

With that said, we've been let down too. Two way street.
