Anyone tell me if I missed something here ? Tippett supposed to be back rd 22 yet injury report as of the 27/7 says 4 weeks. Means Rd 23 return. Has there been any set back mentioned ?

Haven't heard of any set back, i just think its one of those injuries you cant get an accurate read on, think they were aiming for rd 22 with little certainty.

Race against the clock now, i for one wouldn't puck him in a final if he hasnt had a at least a reserves hit out prior.

Well if its a qualifying final at mcg against hawks and he hasnt played a game in about 10 weeks i would rather play soemone else.

Also i could be wrong but i thought he played ressies in either 14 or 15 for a couple of quarters before coming back from another injury.

I think hes past that now...hes a rolls royce and I don't think we'd be driving that rolls in the neafl.
I'd rather play Tippett after layoff than nankervis or sinclair.

Spot on

Automatic selection when ready to go

Well lets hope it isn't an issue and he gets game time prior to finals.

If that doesn't happen, i am sincerely hopeful i am proved wrong and our rolls royce is bog in a comfortable qualifying finals victory.

Need top 4 first....God I hope we win the first qualifying final... would back us big time against the Giants....50/50 v Hawks if tippett is baclueless and Naismith rucks.
Thats the freedom Naismith will enable us to have....tippett stationed up forward..buddy on the wing/high half forward. ..

My concern with Tippett is that historically when he has come back from injury he's been very rusty and taken some time to find form. That said, he is extremely important to our premiership chances and is worth taking a punt on IMO

We will risk him he could be the difference between a flag or falling short, if he breaks down so be it i wouldn't begrudge the club as its such a open year.

The only good thing to come from Tippets injury is the emergence of Naismith, how good is this guy 3 weeks ago his ruck work was great but now he's adding contested marks to his bag of tricks.

I cannot wait to watch Tippett and Naismith play together.

I do recall him kicking a goal within the first minute in his comeback (and debut) with us v Power. Positive signs..!!

Reid doing the same amount of work according to my sources.

That also makes me happy. Reid has been out for a lot longer than Tippett though and hasn't built up any substantial match fitness. He's be a bit of a gamble but I'd like him available all the same for depth.

Johannisen came straight back as a running back after 8-9 wks out also with a hamstring related injury, so in terms of fitness, you'd think tippo should be OK, particularly if he's playing predominantly forward. Only uncertainty is how he goes in clunking big marks in clutch situations and kicking those pressure goals if no h&a games under belt, but he offers so much in terms of structure, the freeing up of buddy, bringing ball to ground for our speedy forwards etc, so definite in for mine.

Johannisen kicked it at the siren can't get more clutch than that.
