which is what the port post alluded too. apparently he thinks he doesnt have the body or durability to run through the midfield for a lengthy period of time
Well I have no idea whether that's true or not, but someone said they heard Petroro say that he played with a broken bone in his foot this year, so I'd say it's very likely he played with some sort of injury issue this year. The previous 3 years he played 22 games in each year, so he's been pretty durable in recent times.

spot on. i'm so 50/50 on it its not funny. one moment i'm like definite yes, lets get it done, other moments i'm not sure.

if the club thinks he can be an effective outside mid i think we do it. if its another HBFer i think we probably pass.

have the cap space too and we really need to start putting together a 22 that can troublesides come finals
Agree with pretty much all this. If we get him I'l be really happy, as I fully expect he would improve us as a team, but if it turned out we weren't interested in him I wouldn't be too disappointed, for pretty much all the reasons that those who are against it have mentioned in this thread.

Again, I have faith that Richo knows what he's like though and that Bains and co. will have crunched the numbers, so yeah, if we land him without having to give up too much (eg, no more than about pick 20, or its equivalent) I'll be very happy and excited to see how we go next year with him, Carlisle and hopefully Steele in our side. Think we could give it a decent shake in the next two years if we get Hartlett and then someone even better next year, to go with the likes of Steele and whoever else we get.

Trade Radio whispers say we are looking at trading them to the Pies for Knightmare. He might be a little older but come the off season there is no better performer.
A little older, how old do you think he is!? May not even be quite 20yo yet. ;) He's the youngster of that trio.

I naturally assumed that wisdom comes with age. KM's posts read like someone who has been watching junior footy for a long, long time.

Happy to stand corrected though haha

I'd be stoked with Steele and Hartlett for 10.

Going back through previous drafts, pick 10 is very much hit and miss.
I don't get this logic. We have been consistently hitting recently and I'd have great faith in getting a gun at 10.

I honestly reckon that if Steele walked out on GWS and entered the draft there is every chance that he would be taken at around pick 10 (only 5 spots higher than he was bid on in his draft), given how meh the 10-20 range of this year's draft seems to be and the dearth of "genuine mids" around that area, so if we got him and Hartlett for that pick I would be extremely happy.

Hartlett coming off a fairly average season and is 26. Really don't see the point of giving up 10 for him. Even skeptical on 10 for Steele and Hartlett personally.
Funny you say that because I've read plenty of posts where a 28 year old David Armitage who had an ordinary season is worth as much as pick 6... We're never one eyed in here.

People keep saying Hartlett is a big body... How is 185cm 80kg 'big'?!

As a comparison, that's smaller than Shane Savage (186cm 82kg) and Nathan Wright (185cm 82kg), about the same size as Jack Newnes (184cm 81kg), and lighter than Jack Billings (184cm 84kg)!

I wouldn't call any of them 'big-bodied'.
I heard somewhere that Hartlett was 90kg.

Same. I've been frowning at that all day. Hartlett is not big-bodied.

Jack Steele on the other hand, he'd easily be the same size as Membrey... And I mean easily, maybe even bigger now
