Every time you can bring in a solid player it's essentially ~5% of your premiership team. So getting 3 picks at that solid 24 kid crop is the way to go.
Problem is you can't put 30 good players in a team. You need top end talent and a balance across the different areas.

For me this year was about seeing who were out top 25 that would lift away from the rest. Well I still think you can throw a blanket over our 20-30 ranked players. Adding four foot soldiers does not lift us. We need to add some big or elite because I believe our depth is growing/developing from within.

I hate other teams!
SOS is your basic bigfooty list manager. Many spuds = good pick.
Carlton's GWS NEAFL spuds would get towelled by the real GWS NEAFL squad.

Marchbank, Stewart & Pickett are locks supposedly, and then the rest of the package are unknown. They were hoping it was Steele and Corr/Finlayson.
But I want Finlayson. Reckon he's got skills - raw, but looks very talented

Was Watters at the helm when Eli got 4 and Siposs got 2? Just a bit premature with those promotions..
Watters was sacked before we even drafted Eli, Richo and Co gave him #4.

Also, they're just numbers on your back, not THAT big of a deal really. Plenty of ordinary players in the AFL with low numbers and plenty of good players with high numbers, one of our all time greats wore #35. Don't believe in players having to 'earn' a number really, they're free to choose from whatever is available at the time.

Great work getting Steele to nominate. Sounds like at best it is this years 3rd but more likely next years second.

Would love to get Corr but it is sounding unlikely. Bains didn't give to much away when asked about him on tr.

What do people think about using next years first and this years third on Steele, Corr and Ahern?

Pick 10 for Steele is not in the conversation.
Will be pick 46 this year or next years 2nd round pick that is it.
Unless of course other GWS players are involved which will change the scenario.

Lets hope we can extract another player from GWS like Corr or Finlayson it would make for the perfect trade period!,

I've not really watched much of Steele, other than highlights here and there. He's got a nice bit of size about him... 187cm and 88kg according to Inside Footy (SEN). That'll balance nicely with Acres 190cm and 90kg. Watching those highlights, his decision making and movement from a pack is similar to Ross and Acres; a good balance. Should work nicely with those two. Armo/Dunstan on the inside, those 3 doing both and Stevo and Gresh bursting away on the outside

On what planet would they accept pick 46 for Steele

If we offered that they'd let him slip through to the draft just to spite us.

Do you guys think, maybe we use our 1st 2017 pick on Steele and if GWS and another player that is willing, we could grab a player like Ahern or Corr, and Finlayson.

That way, like I have said previously, we use this years 1st to give the Swans for Mitchell, that way we can pay Hawthorn back.;)

like your thinking - how good would it be to have one over them for a change

All we need is young Goddard to come on as well and watch out!
