Thats the thing. I wonder what kind of season Eli would have had in the NEAFL.
Im not saying Steeles gona be a flop.
The step up from NEAFL to AFL is huge which is reflected in the numbers.
But hes big and hes young. You couldnt imagine him not lifting to the next level?
I have been trying to tell people on here, he's a promising player but he's no star He's a developing mid who would be at Dunstans level at best when he arrives. All the talk of giving up a first pick for him and a second back and stuff is crazy talk. He should be a late second early third rounder on output. He's not a certain gun by any means.

I checked the stats back in the first 5 or so rounds of 2014 when Eli supposedly burst onto the scene. He was ably getting around 10 touches a game.
It was more some of the goals he kicked and the touches he was getting (barely missed a target).

But yeah he was never one to rack them up.

He also had real spark. Ever since he cut his dreads off he seems to have lost that!

Do you guys think, maybe we use our 1st 2017 pick on Steele and if GWS and another player that is willing, we could grab a player like Ahern or Corr, and Finlayson.

That way, like I have said previously, we use this years 1st to give the Swans for Mitchell, that way we can pay Hawthorn back.;)
I reckon your on the mark with our 2017 1st rounder being used for Jack Steele with another pick coming back from a trade with another club eg . Stewart , Hoskin Elliott

I think your being optimistic. Early 2nd. Which we dont have yet. Will find out what they want soon though.

I agree , the natural tightass in me wants to pay nothing .
I wonder if Boomer Harvey has kept his boots o_O

Richmond flogs claiming they'll finish above us next season in their equivalent thread. After I gave them some sound advice.

Not sure why Prestia chose there.
It's not that ludicrous. I honestly think they need a new coach/direction though. Things have gotten stale and their doesn't seem to be much belief. If I was a betting man though I would be betting on us to finish higher though. I think we'll be in a similar ladder position, potentially 8th or 7th. We still need another gun mid. And a solid KPD.

He's a different player to Dunstan. As I've said a few times, he's a similar player to Acres, with similar stats and similarly having to play out of position. Imagine how outraged we'd be if Acres wanted to go to WC and they offered us pick 45!?

The big difference between Dunstan and Steele is probably that Steele has a bigger natural tank. Tested top 10 for both the 3km time trial and the beep tests at his combine, whereas Lukey-D struggled to play 70% game time even though it was his 3rd year last year.

I must have missed that, but assumed it would be the case anyway. Standard bartering. Does Waldy have connections?
Who ever knows but most of what he says seems on point and too detailed to be mere speculation.

With the impending acquisition of Steele does this mean that luke dunstan won't be able to be in the same team. Don't get me wrong I'm a big fan of Luke but if I put a rough team together it's hard to make a case to put him in. Would seem to have to many inside type midfielders in the side. Thoughts?

interesting to see tom browne say mccarthy and kersten are essentially done trades. this could impact us as GWS might have some extra currency to play with pretty early on
