If you wanted a player as a FA and he signed with you then I don't think a club would match, considering you've paid a "premium" to get him to switch clubs. And if they do I think you'd just move on.
That makes sense.
With respect to Free agency wages, and the model of 'buying in' to the club, as Bruce has seemingly done by signing for a moderate chunk less than he probably could have demanded; are you aware of how the club and/or playing base views the inevitable hurdle that is a Free Agent getting paid thousands more than their existing teammates, who were sold into signing for less than market value?

Players want to win Premierships. Brucey will be getting a very healthy pay packet for next nearly five years.
If we signed a big dollar player that made us a step closer to a flag I don't think any player minds.
I don't think any Geelong players are worried about Dangerfield getting 900K a year.

stavro#4 will spew (and everybody else) but I'd be seriously looking at what it'd cost to get Jack Watts interested. I know he's a whipping boy but he's extremely talented, and in very good form. I think he can be a very high level third defender.
The whispers are he's likely to stay put at this stage though.
Your sick MG,HOWEVER...however I would be willing to watch him week in week out IF he was to play the role Tom Lee is playing right now just like you said. The bloke has a decent peg on him. Also I don't think it would take much for him to leave if the wheels fell off for the Dees. He was closer then people realise to leaving the demons last year

Dempster has heart
Watts has a lot of self inflicted doubts

I just don't think Watts will make it so far. Watts played well against a weak Collingwood team, but he still needs to show grit while getting outclassed against better opponents

Yep we are building up a hard edge and Watts just doesn't have any whiff of that. Would not want him around GF day.

Seattle mariners. Boston Red Sox.
He's the 2nd best forward of the modern era behind buddy franklin
This is absurd if you think that! Thanks for the laughs tonight! You've been awesome! But mayne is not the second best forward of the modern era wouldn't even be top 10!! Would be happy for him to go to the dogs... He likes being in teams that do all the work for him!

Ha ha. Choomah is on fire. He's riled a few! Interesting how you chose 'not even Top 10'. Wouldn't be Top 100!
