boyd and mccartin stats are pretty much identical this year except for 1 stat

boyd ____________________mccartin
83.1
Time On Ground % Per Game 60.9

well 2 if you count the 900k difference in pay
Nope, the big difference is contested marks.

Boyd has 6 for the year

McCartin has 20

TAC Cup players you should know more about

JOSH BEGLEY
Eastern Ranges / Upper Ferntree Gully
187cm, 87kg

- 12 TAC Cup games in 2016
- 23 goals
- Ave. 17 disposals, four marks, four tackles per game

Anton Grbac says: “Josh is a really good story. He came out of local footy this year. His talent was obvious when I saw his first game against Tasmania (six goals in Round 4). Now he’s playing in the midfield and he’s lost a lot of weight, so the kid’s prepared to work, but he probably started playing well a bit too late for Vic Metro consideration. I watched him again recently playing through the midfield and he was really exciting. He’s like a really strong, powerful Christian Petracca-type of midfielder, but as a forward, he’s also really clever with good hands and a beautiful kick.”

I'd love to get Steele that cheaply but geez, I don't know if we will. Then again we got Bruce for a pick in the 40's sooooo ok I'm on board with next years 2nd rounder. Split our pick 8-10 whatever it ends up being into an end of 1st round and a 2nd round pick this year for Florent/Scharenberg. Everyone is happy.
It comes down to how much interest there is from others. He's not in their best 22 most weeks so it's not like they would expect a first round pick for him. He had a great year last year showing some real potential but he didn't establish himself and has obviously been over taken in their minds.

Does't have the agility or speed to get away from his opponent and he's a poor contested mark.
He seems to have no game sense and just stands around watching the seagulls, he's been extremely ordinary. He's the Dogs highest paid player and is usually statistically the worst player on the ground every week. f he even gave a sniff it would help. He makes jack Watts early career look majestic.

I like Jack Steele and think he develops into a high production (but not star) AFL mid but a trade of Pick 9 for Steele and 16 is WAY over on our end. I'd be looking at basing something around next years second with some change their way if we were trading just for Steele.
Top 10 picks are worth their weight in gold.
Without a second this year it will be interesting to see what happens if he chose to move to Moorabbin.
Have you heard which other clubs are really into him?

2 goals and 4 tackles a game to go with 17 touches on average. Barrels, you had my curiosity on the lad, but now you have my attention.

3rd rounder?

The goal average lowered when he went into the middle, and the possession average suffers when he goes forward.

Kid can play. He's coming from a mile back.
