Don't see him leaving GWS but 26 touches, 5 marks, 11 tackles and a goal from Jack Steele today. That guy is an absolute gun.

Speaking of absolute guns, Josh Kelly with a lazy 32..

The amount of talent on the Giants list is crazy. If they can keep the majority of them together, then they should win at LEAST 3 flags.

In all reality it is really difficult to get a player to leave a club unless there is serious rift, massive pay advantage or opportunity in terms of finals (we don't offer that). Our best chance is to get high draft picks and keep them. There will be the odd player that wants back to Melbourne but if we end up bottom 4 again (as most are suggesting) we'd need to do some serious talking to convince them to come to us. I think we are about a couple of years behind in the plan.

I know our midfield is an issue on not being strong as other sides but our Key Position stocks are going to have be crucial in years to come. Theoretically we only have Carlisle and Goddard as the key backman and McCartin & Bruce up forward. One of them goes down and we are light on for tall talent.

Delaney will be retained for this reason. If Coughlan starts to show something, Delaney may need to get nervous, but otherwise we'll be keeping him until something better comes along. ( and if we did de-list Delaney he'd very likely get a spot elsewhere imo ).
Similar with Lee who is even more useful as a swing man.

Not so certain about that. You would have thought with Carlisle out for te year and Goddard out of favour he'd be playing, but he still doesn't seem to be getting a look in. We seem to be playing a defender short at the moment, which is not good news for either Delaney or Lee IMO.

How many years do you think we will still have Fisher?

I think we'll start with Goddard, but he probably will get dropped for Delaney or Lee at some point.
Fisher may well get injured.

Next year will be the same consideration except Carlisle instead of Fisher.

I feel like Josh Kelly, Rory Lobb and Jack Steele are really going settle into AFL level standard this year and that's scary. I've been keen on all 3 the last few years.

Why is everyone all of a sudden got a downer on Goddard? Is it because he was out of sorts in Nab One? I wouldn't take a real lot out of that, the lad is a gun, he'll step up for R1.
I think I remember the club suggesting he isn't ready and won't be major player this year. I don't think people are down on him just not pencilling him in to be a straight up player.

Fisher will likely retire at the end of this year, but he'll be replaced by Carlisle and I expect Goddard to cement a spot by next year. My point was that if Delaney is not getting a game while either of those two are out and Richo would rather go in with an under sized back line then to pick Delaney, then he obviously doesn't rate him very highly.

Not sure he'll play round 1, but he'll definitely be a gun.
