Ins:
Main: Steele, Stevens, N. Brown, pick 23, pick 36, Holmes
Rookie: Irish A, Rookie pick
Cat B: Irish B

Outs:
Main: Curren, Delaney, Murdoch, Shenton, Fisher, Templeton
Rookie: Payne, Saunders,
Cat B: Holmes

It looks like Lee was offered a contract in an article I read....
I think that article was shown to be incorrect? Personally would be staggered if Eli was simply delisted. Would be snapped up in a heartbeat.

Does our list have three spots at the moment, or do we still need to delist one? Either way, we are drafting players with 23 and 36 and upgrading Holmes. I originally thought we were going to just give 50 for Stevens but got the 61 back. Could have upgraded Holmes with any later pick, though.

So we either:
a) got that 61 back off Dogs, plus the pick swap, to not give them any advantage, or
b) Got 61 in the thought that we may rate someone there over a current player on our list and make an extra delisting.

Option is there now and can either delist someone or just use 61 for the pick upgrade. I like that situation TBH. And as someone mentioned before, the 61 sort of becomes an earlier pick once academy stuff has all happened.

Is there an actual list of all trades somewhere? Hard to dissect when the media mis report everything?!

Whose future first rounder did the Blues give for Marchbank/Pickett?

So pick 61 is in play.

The next list lodgment isnt until after the draft. This means that we can go to the draft with pick 61 live and see who is there.

If there is a slider we like we grab them, upgrade Holmes with the next pick and delist all of Lee, Shenton, Murdoch and Eli.

If there is nothing we like then we upgrade Holmes at 61 and one of those 4 gets another chance.

Hawks have literally replaced a Mitch for a younger Mitch.

Lewis is a big loss, but Vickery straightens them up.

Key for them will be the old brigade and if they have it in them for one last crack.

Don't know much about their kids but they're rate them to go this route.
If you watch all their close wins from this year, the players who got them across the line in the dying minutes were Mitchell, Lewis, Burgoyne and Rioli mainly.
With Lewis and Mitchell now gone, there is a huge reliance on Hodge and Burgoyne to take over the load. Not sure Tom Mitch can do that. He's hard at it and an accumulator but he doesn't have many tricks, unlike his namesake Sam.
Lewis is also a hugely underrated player, he's smart, hard at it, skilful and always seems to make the right decisions with ball in hand.

If you take those close wins out this year, then they don't make the 8. Simple as that.

Those players are huge losses. Not to mention they've thrown away all their picks this year, and their first next year.. They will be ****** in 2-3 years time without a doubt

Trade period is a joke. It doesn't matter whether it's two weeks or three months long, 90% of the trades will get done on the last day!

Just make it five days tops and stop piss farting around.
That would make sense but how would the afl make money if we can't have a drawn out beatup for 2 weeks ?

They had a real low percentage compared to the other top 6 sides, so I'm assuming they will fall.

I think it was the media adding 1 and 1 together and creating that rumor
There are a couple of guys I know who are right into the club with $$$ who told me at both the 2014 and 2015 bnfs that Richo wants him.

Def not a media thing, there has been talk of it for years.

Its probably nothing more than Richo throwing his name up as a kid that he got along with and who could be an asset.

"Entering the draft at pick 88 is a bold move."

No... its not. It's ******* insanity and everyone is too gutless to say it for fear of JOM hitting peak form and the Hawks looking good.

On face value they have mortgaged 2 years of drafting to bring in someone that hasn't been fully fit since 2014.

If we gave up our picks for 2 years, lost Jack Newnes and pushed out Roo and Joey in order to bring in JOM, TMitch and Vickery we would get laughed out of the league for being so reckless.

The Hawks though, they "Know how to get things done" and have "made the brave calls".

**** off.

Agree with all the positive comments on here about how well we've handled trade period and just about every move we made was gold. Only thing I don't agree with is those expecting a big slide from the Hawks. One straight kick and they were in a Prelim this year and who knows from there. I expect them to be strong again next year and make the eight comfortably. Anything else is wishful thinking. Talk of a bottom 4 finish is ridiculous. There 2017 first rounder will be worth about pick 11 or 12 at best IMO.

If it's that West Australian article on Claremont needing to find a replacement tall because Tom Lee had re-signed with St Kilda. It is several weeks old and took Richo's season review and mentioning Tom's potential improvement over the off-season and put 2 and 2 together and came up with 5 and assumed he had been re-signed. Not official as far as I know ... but then I know nothing.
