What would you prefer.

We traded pick 10 for Marchbank and some change if we were lucky or we traded 10 for another 1st round, 2 second rounds and then we got Brown for free?

I think we've done better than the original plan
Or: Maybe use one of our recently acquired 2nd rounders on a promising young KPD.

I'm sure they tried, but couldn't get the right player, so this is a fallback plan. I don't really rate Brown, but I'll cheer for him now.

No, that was brilliant, I just don't clap my hands and giggle at every single thing the club does like you might?
You are one hard hombre.

We should all follow your no compromise lead.

Sure to win a flag with this ruthless attitude.

Not to mention the other original plan seemed to include the good, but expensive and old Eric McKenzie.

Im stoked that the club have tried to get a good young long term option first.

Then when it has become apparent no genuinely good young options were available - instead of grabbing some kid who only might be good one day, they've decided a stopgap option is better, to give us time for a genuinely good long term option to be available.

And instead of going with an Emac expensive stopgap- they've gone with a cheap one which will do fine with dempster still around and reliable.

Ok. Browny's TR interview...

Nathan has a spring in his step.

NB : Great to have a club and even better it's St Kilda

Was honest and open with Bucks and went away with wife and decided to move on and really happy to now be at St Kilda.

Needed a change of scenery. Believes he has more growing to do as a player and Richo was the right man to play under

Excited by our young list. Great culture. Chatted to Saints players and Richo and really excited to start his new journey.

Fitness test was in Malvern (under cover operation. Had a message to bring his runners and boots and then got smashed around the oval and loved it)

Richo was a huge factor in Browny wanting Saints. Stoked to be playing under him again. It feels like he's an 18 yo again with butterflies in belly and excitement.

Rooey one of the greatest players of all time so looking forward to being able to celebrate his goals with him and playing with him.

Gears the first player to contact him and welcome him to the club.

Had a ball at Collingwood. Met some amazing people and made a lot of friends along the way. No bad feeling.

Saying (when asked) when he plays up against Clokey he has him covered. (Laughing and joking)

Telling brother Mitch that he's welcome to his number at the Pies if he gets there. Hopes he gets a chance somewhere else.

Re working with Carlisle he's looking forward to it and helping the backline. Excited about the future

Important to adapt to the game and he'll be more than willing to learn new tricks under a great club.

Starting pre season when the senior boys when they get back.

What a lovely bloke! Spoke so well and came across as really caring with true excitement to join our club.

sammm there you go mate.

Trade period isnt over yet.

Steele for future 2nd rounder
Steven for prob #50
Brown for nothing

First rounder 2017 and 2 second rounders for #10.

If you can still critisise the club after this trade period, I doubt there is any point trying to convince you.

Cheers

The club have done very well, I just don't rate Brown, but I can also see why they have looked to him when other option didn't pan out… think it's okay to express that, don't let it upset you.

Port giving up their 2017 1st Rd pick for this year's 19 and 30.
That is disgusting when put up against our picks swap with the Hawks
Little article in the HUN today saying that some clubs were very surprised that the AFL ticked off such a lop-sided deal. Also said that had Hawthorn offered it to Gold Coast for O'Meara, instead of to us for pick 10- to help them get JOM- they would have been very tempted by it. Yet now all Hawthorn have is pick 10 and they seem miles away from clinching Jaeger!
