I have a real problem with Vickery types. Name one one ruck size forward since Paul Salmon that has been a massive success? And he was back in the iso-forward days. Petrie has had a great career but has never torn the league apart. Tippett is just ok and is better now as a ruck. Tom Boyd wants to be a ruck. Joe Danniher looks promising but I still would not want him.

They are tall and thats it. They take the odd high mark and when they get a step on the lead it is hard for defenders to reach the ball. Other than that they are useless. They cannot impose any defensive pressure because they simply do not have the speed, agility or anything resembling lateral movement.

I really do not understand why all of them are so overpriced. Because every single one of them under delivers.
This is exactly why I think the perfect KPF size is 193-196. Forwards need to be good below their knees and be able to put pressure on defenders. The giant forwards just don't do that so even if they kick five goals per game they leak the ball out of defence. In saying that, they do have some value. Westhoff, Jenkins, Tippet etc. are all capable of kicking 40 goals in a season. But you wouldn't want your forward line to have more than one of those types. That is why Grimley was so tantalising. Shame he was shit at football because he was athletic enough to be a star.

Tom Mitchell just bought a house in rowville which is 5 minutes from Hawks training ground....
Upon shaking hands with my uncle, who was the realtor, my uncle asked "so how does season tickets to every hawks game sound as a sweetener?"
Tom laughed and replied with "how many seats a game can cut off 100k"
He's a hawk next season

Huh, "realtor"?
This sounds like a true story.

Is he from the US?

Brad Hill <-- Probable trade.
Angus Litherland <-- Probable trade bait.
Jermaine Miller-Lewis <-- Probable delisting
Lachlan Langford <-- Probably keep one more year
Matthew Spangher <-- Definite Delisting.
Zac Webster <-- Possible delisting
Jack Fitzpatrick <-- Possible delisting
Luke Surman <-- Probably keep for now
Tim O'Brien <-- Possible trade bait.
Ryan Schoenmakers <-- Probably keep
Shaun Burgoyne <-- Unlikely retirement
Jarryd Roughead <-- Will go on the LTI list at the very least.
Will Langford <-- Likely safe
Alex Woodward <-- You would anticipate that he would be given another year.
Josh Gibson <-- Possible retirement (unlikely)
Luke Hodge <-- Possible retirement (unlikely)
I think a lot of what happens at the end of the year will really depend on whether we four-peat.
If we get it I think the older guys will want to hang around to try and make more history with the 5-in-a-row.

If we miss out then I wouldn't be surprised to see both Hodge and Burgoyne go. I think Gibbo is more likely to hang around than both of those two.

I don't think we will keep both of O'Brien and Schoey. One of the two of them will be traded out to help get us the inside mid we need.
Surman is also a definite keep for one more year.

Woody is definitely safe if he keeps his current form. L. Langford is also safe for at least one more year.

It's easy to manipulate on these pages, hence why the only rumors we can believe are sources such as 'Damien Barrett'.
If people want to talk about rumors and theories, go to the 'trade theoretical' page

Well done you are 100% right
I made up the story to make a point
We can't believe everything that is written on these posts. Like dunstall talking to JOM....
I'm not saying you necessarily made it up. I would love if it was true.
But there is a bit of a history on BigFooty for people joining up (or creating a new secondary profile) just to post false rumours.

Hasn't Lachy been kicking a fair few goals for the development side this year? Being that he didn't play a lot of footy before being rookied - is there any potential there, those of you that follow Box Hill closely?

It's fair to say if Lachlan didn't have the last name 'langford', he would not be on our list, let alone any AFL list

Vickery to the Hawks is not as ludicrous as the idea of Cloke to the Hawks.
I am not suggesting that it will happen BUT
He is a restricted free agent so salary cap space may be all that is required.
He is only 26 and is a better forward than Ceglar or McEvoy.
He is an upgrade on Fitzpatrick who has has issues with concussion and missed a fair swag of the season.
He is 200 cm and can do some ruck work. If Ceglar or McEvoy miss we are left with Pittonet (too young) or Fitzpatrick ( reasonable tall forward but ordinary ruckman).
Tall marking forwards are scarce. Imagine Vickery as the KPF surrounded by Gunston, Sicily, Burton, Rioli, Breust and Poppy.
He is not a world beater but there are worse options around.
I didn't realise he was only 26... Interesting.

I love that our forwards are skilled and intuitive. Tap-ons for goal assists, cohesive leading, that sort of thing.
Why would we want to drop a potato like Vickery (or Cloke these days) in the middle of it all?

I'm guessing you're a merchant banker
Far from it. I work in the finance industry but I'm not remotely inclined to be on the sell side of the industry so the thought of buying in Richmond is a fantasy. I like the inner city lifestyle though so I'm content to rent a shoebox.

2 bedroom terrace in my street in Richmond sold for $1,050,000 on the weekend. Getting to the point where even a big name footy player can't afford to live in the inner-city any more.
Two years ago the in-laws sold a corner block with an old house in scoresby for around $400k
The buyer knocked down the house and out up two dwellings, both two story with garage, one 3 bedder the other 4.
Free standing and I believe on separate titles. Both sold for over $700k the other week.

Would be lucky to be 400sqm of land each. Sure the houses are new but the 3 bedder wasn't massive with the garage taking up most of the bottom floor and no real yard to speak of.

You are a fair way from trains, it's a 30k odd trip to town that is brutal in peak hour and people are paying over 700k for the privilege.

Boggles the mind what's happening to property these days
