Does anyone have any actual intel that we're going after Rockliff? I've only heard from people who have said we have no interest

I'm not confident we'll get both him and Gibbs, as much as I would love it
There's been just as much intel on here suggesting he's coming as there is he's going. Comes in patches, difficult to work out who to believe. I have heard that Rockliff to us has been in the pipeline for some time from a source who I know does have contacts within the club, but this was a while ago and I'm certainly not betting my left nut that it's accurate.

"Here's one out of left field...

Jordan Lewis (30) to Melbourne on a three-year deal (likely)

..... then

Bernie Vince (31) returns to Adelaide on a two-year deal for a 4th round pick

Free's up Melbourne Salary Cap for Lewis...
We forget about Bryce Gibbs (28) and keep Pick 13, and let Bernie finish his career with Tex and the boys, in his home state and with a premiership

......... I did say left field! "

Have heard stupider idea.

Wouldn't say no to this but would prefer Gibbs.

How good would it be for Bernie to come home?

Alas, I feel like Melbourne are primed to make a top 8 push this year and next and he's a big part of that now.

For sure. IMO Melbourne's gonna make the 8, Saints too

Hawks and North to drop out, Hawks will be just on the edge, North close to, if not in the bottom 4

If Rocky and Lewis do in fact go to the Demons, I'd be targeting some of their younger inside mids this time next year (Brayshaw, Oliver etc). They'll want more game time.
Oliver is da bomb. Can join the Gingers.

My guess with Rockliff is he has already agreed to go to a club for a surprisingly late pick. Brisbane are trying their hardest to shop him around for a better deal, but desperately want him gone. Clubs aren't biting or are offering shit deals like Greenwood or Dunn.

I believe the club he's agreed to move to is Adelaide.

Maybe I'm just hoping

Na I think you're right and I'm pretty sure I heard rumors he told the Port players he was moving to the Crows during their game.

Never happens like that though. If he's agreed to us as you suspect/hope then the Dons can offer pick 1 and it won't make any difference.

What prompted Lewis to Melbourne?

Did hawthorn go to him and say we think you should move on, and then changed their minds?

Or was it more, we can't guarantee your place beyond 2017?

Ive been told by a member of the coaching panel that we simply arent that into him (Rockliff).
Now Im not going to kid myself into believing that I would recieve a truthful tip, as Im by no means close to this source,or important enough to expect a straight answer, but I wasnt filled with any sort of confidence based purely on intuition.

No interest in Hendo. No one knocking Lyons' door down. CEY not going anywhere. Talk about Dear has vanished. Grigg no chance.

Looking like the turnover we were kinda hoping for 2 weeks ago, is not likely.

Honeychurch and Mackenzie anyone?

Is wasn't just 'can't guarantee your place beyond '17', it was more to the extent, you're done at the end of next year and wont be offered another contract !!

Lots of pending deals in the pipeline, when deals fall through clubs panic "time to shop means time to sell"
(more likely to get more for less)

This trade period will become A Westfield on Christmas Eve

From what's been said, he went in with the expectation that he'd still be the future captain after Hodge whilst Hawthorn were of the opinion that this season might be his last/can't guarantee another contract after this one.

Apparently, it's because he took a pay cut under the promise it would keep him, Hodge & Mitchell together, once Mitchell was pushed out and Tom Mitchell was offered more than any of the 3 of them have ever been paid, he cracked the shits.
