There can be only one...
Yep, saves GWS spending $300k on a player that they know won't play a game next year. North are basically taking a financial risk and salary cap hit only as a pick that low in the draft is like a lottery pick anyway. Salary cap probably isn't a big issue for North next year as they've gotten rid of quite a lot of highly paid players this off-season.
Yeah, we have plenty of cap space at present and we have to utilise most of the cap.

There is still a high risk he wont get back on the park like Morabito or he will continue to have knee related issues which see him fall well short of his pre-injury potential, but for some money and a relatively low pick it is a good risk to take given the direction the club has decided to go.

He is the kind of kid we can't have any expectations with, if he comes good or to what level he can return to should be just considered a bonus. However, if he does come good, it would be an exceptional return on the investment. I think we are currently in a good position to look at these type of trades. We probably have 3 or 4 more mature aged players we are likely to trade out or delist, there are going to be some long shots that make it onto the list over the next few years.

Does Hamish Ogilvy have any input on trading? Do you reckon he would be advising on how much a certain player is worth picks/points wise? would he be the one who looks though each teams list to try and identify who is under-rated/not getting a game when they should be?

He has talked before that he works with the list manager to discuss what picks we have and what/who we are interested at those picks. That way the list manager and he are on the same page about developing the overall list.

He and his team look at those not in the AFL system.
