Alot of Cheap stats between Him and Dusty.
Yeah and the "experts" talk about how his stats are going up, and he is averaging 29 touches, but its how he gets them, and what he does with them that irk me. Id take 20 from JZ ahead of his soft 30 any day of the week!! Dusty is tough, but does get the odd cheapy too!!

Perhaps another time and place for this topic ..... Not here, certainly!

I dont mind that we havent necessarily brought in someone but I am currently disappointed we havent been on the front foot a bit more in trading out a couple of guys that have stagnated or arent in our long term plans. I dont mean our scraps but someone of the ilk of Atley for example who would have good currency and allow us to get a bit higher in the draft

JB using the term 'aggressive reset' would mean we are looking to change our list substantially and we currently havent done anything to suggest we are doing that.

Going into the last day of trade period says to me that we are working around the periphery with what we are looking to do which is fine most years but this year I was really hoping for a much more aggressive approach. I really hope we end up tomorrow with a top 20 pick somehow or it doesnt make much sense to me.
Ill reserve my judgement for when its all wrapped up, i disagree about Atley but agree with general premise - We either land young gun mids with all that cap space or load up on quality picks. Atley would be completely the wrong player to trade, he's exactly the type we want more of - thats why he has currency. The only one that has any real currency that wont be around for our next tilt is Goldie and since thats so unpopular we have little to make it happen. So if we go as it is now, well we've added a year or two to a painful rebuild. I say painful, because at least if rebuilding teams generally have a truckload of young draftees coming through to watch develop.

So which current players on our list are going to get a massive pay rise so we spend our cap ? I thought we would at least try to improve our draft position, hope they prove me wrong tomorrow .

nah some posters will just complain if the trade doesn't happen
If you're addressing this to me, the whole theme of my post was that guys you and others say we are linked to always seem to look over us due to money or an additional year. I am struggling to understand why were not willing to offer more money or an additional year when we clearly have a lot of cap space.

It wasnt a dig at you, Smooth, or anyone else who is willing to publish info that you don't have to and understandably could keep to yourself. It's more of frustration at our recruiting team that we always seem to be there abouts but not enough to get it done.

I think you're just using this as a convenient argument to support the not-very-realistic proposition that you made earlier about us not offering enough money. In a minority of cases where we have been keen, we have been outbid, but it's certainly not the usual case. And it's wrong to say Scoob and the other inner types keep saying it, because except in a very few cases, they haven't.

For a number of reasons already advanced, it is hard to do the big deals. As evidenced by everyone else's lack of activity this trade period.

Felt pretty aggressive when we looked ahead and imagined North playing with none of Harvey, Petrie, Firrito, Wells, or Dal Santo. That's five regular senior players replaced every week, and chances for guys who are on our list because they were rated. We have spent no usable picks and brought in another very talented kid. It would have been great (would be if it happens tomorrow) to see our middling hand win some more top trade talent, or some of our lesser lights moved on to improve our hand, but we could do nothing this week and still have shaken our list and and to the core.
