The agm - do they field questions from the members or do they just go through the motions.

Would be good to ask questions re the lack of development of our players
As a shareholder I dared to ask a question at an AGM during the Aylett era about why didn't the club go to the State government for funding of a new club HQ at Arden St. My proposal was to promote it as a combined community centre and club HQ; was told that zero chance of the state government or the council putting money into our HQ.

After the AGM a club employee approached me and demanded to know why i would think anyone let alone the government would ever put money into a new community centre/club HQ at Arden st. Was berated by this individual for putting forward such a stupid idea; fast fwd a few years!!

Oh and the irony of a shareholder being berated by an employee for raising an item at an AGM wasn't lost on me.

One my pet hates, which I see in local government too. Councillors and even staff who look down on or patronise citizens. You know, the ones they're meant to serve! The paradigm at work is somehow seeing themselves as separate from the very community/constituency/membership that they represent. The lack of respect is dumbfounding.

Biggest problem in running a football club are the cancerous factions and big egos around.

The more i deal with people involved with the AFL, or see some of the decisions that are made i realise that their are some amateur campaigners whose high opinion of their importance isnt warranted!

I think he'd be better off if his intentions were known. It's not really a heckling type of attendance. Generally pretty respectful. If anyone got a little carried away, I'm sure the boys would sort it out.

The year that Greenwood left was just awkward. He was fielding questions left, right and centre. Bell announced that he was leaving before the B&F, and from memory he won it. There was no ill feeling from the crowd. Thanks for your service Peter, see you back at the premiership reunions.
As sad as it is, we are copping left right and centre in the media.
If Wells places in the bnf, whether he announces it before or after, it doesn't look good.
If Boomer places also, it'll be a field day.

Belly was heading home after winning us a flag. Wells is heading to Collingwood for a pay day. Scenarios are exactly similar.

Bell was heading home for a pay day to a club that chopped him 5 years previous.

He announced he was leaving and had the balls to own his decision. The air was clear, his decision was respected and everyone got on with it. Personally, I think Daniel should do this. I suspect that he won't even be there.

I always wondered if we kept Bell and Carey didnt **** up, we could have made a big move for the 2002 flag.
Hindsight, amongst hindsight.

Yeh no one begrudged Belly for going home. If we get a decent compo pick for Wells I dont think il begrudge him leaving either.

Former Carlton player Josh Bootsma will also play for Peel and Ugle said the 23-year-old was playing well enough to warrant another opportunity at AFL level.

"He's been magnificent this year and hopefully he gets another crack at it," Ugle said.

The Blues sacked Bootsma in 2014 after a string of off-field issues. He played 14 AFL games in three seasons after he was drafted with pick No.22 in the 2011 NAB AFL draft.

Josh Bootsma worth a look
