Hurley is going to re sign

He is on the almost the same amount of money now than what he is being rumoured to be offered.

He is a loyal guy

He is 'contracted' for next year (meaning if he were to 're sign' it would almost certainly be to improve his worth to the footy club which should be easy enough with the new CBA coming into effect next year).

You won't be getting Hurley for free. If he does genuinely decide to leave (which he is a better than 50:50 chance to stay according to our source on the Bombers board), then a suitable trade will need to be made. He wont leave us in the lurch. Not that sorta character at all.

If you wish to trade for Hurley, we will almost certainly be asking for a Mason Wood + first rounder. Hurley is the reigning All Australian defender. They don't grow on trees.

Anyways, expecting a back lash from this board, but that is the state of affairs
Since you like lurking on our board, may I suggest a little light reading for you.

One of the all time greatest threads on bigfooty, currently up to 1173 pages. Packed full of wit and genuine laughs, and very much full of sympathy for your rabble of a *club.

Here is the link for it.

Now **** off.

Yeah you're probably right - if he goes it will be for a trade rather than for nothing.

I was just going on the hope that that article was the last straw - clutching at said straws really.

Did you think that article was a bit odd / inappropriate though?

According to our source, the club has been inundated with little to no news of any of the other uncontracted guys and when push came to shove they decided to go stuff it and release the media statement.

The odd thing was the timing.

Yeah and Jimmy Herd wasn't the sort of campaigner that tested experimental drugs on teenagers. People change mate, grow up.

If Hurley doesn't leave the bombers then something has seriously changed . Like I've said before both he & Hibberd are keen to get the f*** out of dodge . I'd be both very surprised & very disappointed if we aren't up into our necks for at least one of them if not both .

Brad crouch is a must! Even Prestia who has a bit of toe would be useful around the stoppages. Need to get someone to mix up our midfield mix.

Is Devon smith uncontracted?

Smith is on a sizeable contract but the talk is they might look to get rid of him to free up the cash as their salary cap is going to be over next year.
I think around 500k a year was the talk.

Crouch would be a great get but can't see it happening.

The only ones i can see being tapped on the shoulder at the end of the year are Petrie and spud. Dal and thomo are 50/50
I'd keep Thompson he still has good footy in him. He's clearly allowed to play some silly football and seems to have lots of nothing roles. Judge him in a good structure.
