Brad crouch is a must! Even Prestia who has a bit of toe would be useful around the stoppages. Need to get someone to mix up our midfield mix.

Is Devon smith uncontracted?
Devon Smith is contracted for another year but would be a great get.

With giants needing cap space he could be one to come home early, otherwise their out of contract players of note are Steele and Marchbank

Honestly do we have a half back capable of 30+ touches a game?
Wright has had 30+ from half back three times and has been one of our best ball users for the last couple of years (along with Harvey, Wells, Dal and Higgins). We've missed more than many realise. MacDonald could also get to that level, I think.

Practically none of these guys being discussed is what we need. Some might be eventual (younger replacements) like Devon Smith for Higgins/Thomas and Hurley for Thompson, but we need line-breakers & class. Sorry, but from what I've seen, Prestia, Tomlinson & Crouch are not it. I really like Jack Steele as a player, but even he isn't exactly what we need. I know they're not plentiful, but we need a Josh Kelly/Isaac Smith type. Or we can just clone Wellsy (minus the injuries) a few times.

The more I think about it, the more Clarke is very important to our future. If we can complement him with another mid who is a little classier, then we have a great base to work with.

anyone watch the melbourne game on the weekend? Grimes would be a bloody big upgrade on Mullett or Mckenzie.

First game for the year because he has been on the outer and comes in 32 disposals @90% efficiency with 9 marks
Was it a quality 30 touches or one of those crab games where his metres gained is in the negatives? Curious as I didn't see the nor even know he was back playing.

3 times in what 80 odd games off half back. Not that impressive.

In saying that though, we have missed Wrighty something shocking, his one on one and composure with the footy is excellent imo.

KPD is our number one priority.

Outside of Tarrant we have:

Thompson - looks cooked
Tippett- not up to it
Hansen - not up to it
Spud - Cooked
Durdin - miles off it.
Nielson - also a fair way off.

Michael Hibberd would be an interesting one. With Mullett and McKenzie possibly not at the club next season and Atley playing like a country footy scrubber we could perhaps use someone who was playing to a high standard before the suspension.

It amuses me that both McKenzie and Mullett are already out the door for some people. Trades, maybe but they won't be delisted.
Id package them up to non contenders for a couple 2nd rounders.
They are lesser versions of Levi and Basti.
And thats saying something.

Is there any new news on north Melbourne talking to any potential targets. Seems to have gone a bit cold the last 4-5 weeks. Hope we are planning to be big players this trade peiod.

Has been rumored to have asked for a trade. West Oz boy isn't he? I've not followed him apart from SC scores. Handy user of the pill off half back would be awesome!

Ever since Scott Thompson bruised his lungs that time he has not been the same, i dont think he ever will be, however not like our midfielders do a great job of clogging up space to help out at the moment....we need players with leg speed you can 1 or 2 slowish mids but he have a truckload of them
