Thoughts on Ibbotson? He'd be a good intercept marker that would be a replacement/upgrade on Batch. Is 28 so getting on, but would have 3-4 years left in him. I highly rate this guy and would be a good fit in our backline. Could really help Vlas being released into the midfield as well.
OOC in 2017, so we could possibly offer a 3rd rounder for him - and see if Freo would bite.

Heppel & hurley together will change the dynamics of this list dramatically. With a midfield of heppel, cotch, vlas, dusty & miles. plus titch & lids rotating..!
hurley to support rance. backline of rance, hurley, grimes, kmac, houli, yarran

the list will have a great mix of skill, xfactor & plenty of run.

History shows that they do, especially when the tiges are after them ;)

Its quite hilarious how after the laugh a minute debut year that lasted 3 minutes for Hammer where he ended up playing in the VFL forever...now the brains trust in its desperation to prove the pundits wrong continue to select him, because we havent any better, but they continue to select him and then when our arses get handed to us, he is one of a few that did ok. Now bear with me for a sec, without him and with Ivan we win 15, with him and with or without Ivan we sit 1-6...thats after his first year, where we were 2-4 with him and then when he was moved to where his ability warrants, we win the next 9 straight ..Go figure o_O I mean we even have members of the slumber party talking about hammer as a future no 1 ruck to be a combo with Ty and or Griff.....now that is the most stuffed up, delusional shit I have ever encountered anyhwere.
But he can jump high............

Lennon's lack of pace and tank will always be an issue. He's an inside mid for me - could be a very good one considering his excellent hands and kicking. Flankers need to be able to run and he struggles there.

I would love to see Lennon start to play in the midfield in the VFL when he gets over his concussions. Good chance to build his tank there. it was something he done late in his U18 days at the Knights and done very well

if all the best talent is unavailable with the academy players may as well dangle our pick and try and get prestia would rather use pick what ever we have on him then a conca etc
Who said all the best kids are in NSW and QLD. They have priority with some very good players from those regions, but have you watched an U18 Vic Metro/Country/ or SA game? I think there will be players available!

hopefully you are right but what im hearing is that 3 or 4 from the top 10 are unavailable with zone crap then there will be normal pick 1 etc so pick 3-5 could be 10th best talent etc

Can't believe the amount of people on here that continue to suggest trading Brandon Ellis for Billy Longer. Why would a VFL ruckman be commanding so much at the trade table?
People seem to forget that Brandon Ellis has been a major part of our success in recent years, 2014 he made the All Australian squad of 40, and the players on that list are unbelievable, to make it even better he was only 20 years old.
The first part of this year he has been played out of position, he is an out and out winger, not a bloody half back flanker, doesn't help when the whole team is low on confidence either.
He goes to another club for something along the lines of Billy Longer, it will be one of the worst trades in Richmond's history.
I have been a defender of Brando but his form this year is not good and suggests he may be more replaceable than first thought. He was bloody great in 2014, anyone disputing that has a short memory. The rest of this season should tell us what we need to know. If he doesn't start getting back to that form, I think a trade for Longer is bang on the money. He was a high draft pick and has dominated games at AFL level. Only stuck in the twos because he was injured in round 1 and Hickey has been killing it from the get go.

On the other hand, Brando has age, work ethic and attitude on his side so there's a pretty good chance he'll improve on this year. I could see him being a gun at the Saints with their midfield depth.

Was thinking about this today too. I rate Ibbotson. Seems to have one shit year for every good year though. Last year he was close to AA, this year he is shit. Is a FA next year and exactly the kind of player Freo may see as expendable in order to have a better crack at the draft. Reckon they'd want a mid-late second though which I wouldn't be that keen to give up.

If he's a free agent it won't matter what they want for him. The only question is what money are we prepared to offer and will they match it. The amount of money will determine their compensation.

Even before today's news thinking we could get Heppell and Hurley is pretty funny.

Prestia would be a good get , no to two years of R1 picks though, that price for Treloar was bs , coll will attest to that when they see a top 3 pick go north
Its about knowing where your list is at. Collingwood thought they had the chance to contend this year, which is proving to be ridiculous even if you look past the injuries that occurred to some of their better players. In hindsight we're lucky we didn't give away two picks as we obviously thought we would get more out of Chaplin and Maric which both of their regression has left us with big holes to fill and also thought we had a coach who could lead us places, which too has proven to be a fantasy.

I hope Essendon resign the lot, except for Heppell, Hurley and Hooker the rest are spuds and half of them have pretty much been out of the game for 2 years ( injury 2015 banned 2016 ) and history shows that players out for 2 years don't come back and pick up where they left off, they'll fly out of the blocks in 2017 due to motivation and soft draw The AFL will hand them but then they will revert back to shitness once the motivation wears off, then once Watson retires due to being booed out of every stadium in oz they will go into full meltdown again and half the spuds will regret their decision to stay and come to the realisation that landing on another list has passed them by.
If they think everyone is going to forgive and forget they are horribly mistaken.

So they're members of the GWS and GC academies? Doesn't that mean those clubs get priority access?

Also, I thought the academies were supposed to be for developing kids in regions that don't have much footy, with the promise of playing for their home team? How can they justify using it to develop someone who plays for Vic metro and is the son of a former player?
Father sons out rank academies.

He is a free agent next year. I am talking about getting him end of this season.
