I rate him highly. What would we need to give up for him though?
Probably a pick in the 10-15 range.

They wouldn't let him go, a heart and soul player , could easily be their Capt.
He becomes a free agent next year though, and if we offer him a big of coin they might move early

Haha, probably not but hopefully they would go for it anyway.
They would be best placed than most clubs to get the best out of Ellis though. He can receive the dish off from Viney and then hack it long to a waiting Oliver/Petracca. If he starting going auto backwards then Jones would give him a what for and tell him to knock it off and pull his head in.
Ellis is an elite runner and has the traits of becoming a very very good outside mid. Just has no confidence/composure at the moment. Being in a squad like the Dee's would help him immensely I think.

And it's not rocket science to see how a Tyson could immediately improve the Tiges.

No argument on Tyson. I suggested this exact trade last year, without much support. Would be hard to shift him though.

Having a bit more of a think on this. Common consensus is we need a KPD, Ruck and good inside mid to be genuine contenders. The following would tick all of those boxes

-BEllis for Tyson. Straight swap.
-Vickery to Collingwood for a billion dollars- get band 1 compo (pick 7?)
-Trade pick 6 to GWS for Lobb
-Hurley as DFA (so doesn't effect our Vickery compo pick)

IN: Tyson, Lobb, Hurley
OUT: Ellis, Vickery, 1st round pick
Still retain a first round pick so we're not selling the farm

None of that will happen but it's nice to dream

Can't believe the amount of people on here that continue to suggest trading Brandon Ellis for Billy Longer. Why would a VFL ruckman be commanding so much at the trade table?
People seem to forget that Brandon Ellis has been a major part of our success in recent years, 2014 he made the All Australian squad of 40, and the players on that list are unbelievable, to make it even better he was only 20 years old.
The first part of this year he has been played out of position, he is an out and out winger, not a bloody half back flanker, doesn't help when the whole team is low on confidence either.
He goes to another club for something along the lines of Billy Longer, it will be one of the worst trades in Richmond's history.
so we can **** off tyronne

We will get Tyson later via FA. Hartley and co will be gone so finally we can get a UFA for nothing

I wouldn't mind us offering a bit of coin to Jackson Trengove. Ports salary cap is quite tight.

He can play key back, ruck or key forward. Would offer a lot.

Port connection again.

We can't infect the camp nature of the club anymore even though Hartley will have to be booted.

Too old for our window but might entertain in a few years as a UFA.

Probably does not suit our rebuild

Agreed , still think trengrove and grimes should be targets as depth players that won't cost much, Grimes in particular as a FA , significant upgrade on Moore
We don't need depth players, we need blokes who will walk into the side and make it better.

Lol. I think a few people on here are getting way too excited about Rory Lobb. He looks good but he has done nothing to warrant that sort of draft pick. He's barely outperformed Tyrone yet he is the savior and Tyrone is shit.

Ellis for Tyson isn't happening. But we need to use Ellis to get another quality inside mid.
Or another area of significance.

We need another key forward, key Backman, ruck and inside midfielder.

Solidify.

Looking at last night, Three tall forwards work and Griff announced himself but Vickery seems the odd one out. We need another forward who can play this system. I reckon Sam Reid could be obtained and I believe he could be a great fit if, he can get his body right. What you'd give up for him is another thing. His worth is not clear to me.

Ideally then Vickery becomes no 1 ruck.

He has the tools imo. Not sure why he hasn't been trained hard there.
