I like your thinking, but no way Vickery attracts end of first round and GWS/Pies pick is probably 7 or 8, highly doubt they do that and Steele for 4.
Sell the idea to GWS that gaining pick 4 would give them a free swing at the draft before other clubs start bidding on their academy kids. They have the ability to garner enough value through trading to enable them to match any bids for kids they genuinely want. The other thing is Steele isn't worth pick 4 and they know that but moving up 3-5 spots in the draft warrants getting something back in return and Steele is IMO the best suited to our needs i.e. inside big bodied midfielder.

Please don't give them anymore.
They have already had 16 top 10 picks in the last 5 years + Cameron/Treloar/Sheil outside of the draft.
We've had 1 in that time, so we should probably keep it.

fwiw Pelchin stated on SEN today that Prestia is worth somewhere between pick 8-15 this year.

Also daid Lids only an early second rounder due to calf injuries and Vickery also a second rounder.

Just one mans opinion but he did say that he's been speaking to other list managers recently.
Someone always pays tho, I wonder what he thought Anderson was worth or would he have paid pick 21 for Stanley? I think not.

Deledio with no legs let along a calf injury would be worth a 2nd round pick

Right now they have 3 first round picks, currently 8, 16 & 17 and no doubt they will try and wrangle 1-2 more either this year or next year for the players they will look to trade. What I'm suggesting is a way to break the cycle of them stockpiling picks. If clubs are smart they would only be trading first round picks for that year when dealing with the Giants which then stops them from stockpiling points.

By getting them to trade that later top 10 pick for an earlier one, it takes away their ability to match all the bids for academy picks. If they take pick 4 off us that either gets used on a non academy pick or they go early to secure one, which means if another club bids on a kid the Giants have to decide whether to match again or lose a quality kid. If they don't have enough points available in a year they go into deficit for the following season, which would mean any first round picks they get for 2017 would be downgraded, which then means they don't have enough to land academy kids that might be highly rated. To gain those points the Giants may have to trade away a highly rated player or 2 to ensure they get the picks to match bids. So instead of them restocking the shelves constantly they start losing quality players as they decide whether to keep taking the highly rated kids or stick with what they have and let them go.

7 posts to thier name & trade period time isn't far off..... it starts
Can't wait for condomunderarm and that bloke who owns a pub who gets told private info to turn up on here, and the various accounts that will appear with 1-2 posts next to their names after claiming they know someone deep inside some club.

Also how many posts will we see that start with " my source who i cant name has informed me.......... " :syringe::bomb::alien:

I'm still of the opinion we should keep pick 4-5, been a while since we've had access to top range talent would be nice to nail a pick there. If we could get 11+17 or something that would be great but with this year looking like the first round being pretty even I'm not sure we will find many clubs happy with that.

Assuming Naish is increasingly looking like being a first rounder next year it makes sense for us to get rid of next years first anyway, and I think most of us would expect a much better showing next year than what we saw this year, which makes it even more appealing. We could end up giving them pick 10-12 next year for Prestia, which we would have had to give up for Naish anyway.

We'd probably just draft you a brand new avatar with the pick. :(

Would I be silly to think that Richmond should target majac in this off season. It has probably already been stated but get rid of vickers and go hard for maj. He could fix a lot of problems given the right coaching and a decent go at it.
