Clubs if not handing out a draft pic will pay overs to get a good player across, TY can play he aint a super star but no doubt he would command 450-500K at a new club thus providing us with a band 1 pic
He is on that for us. We have to hope a new club pays the trade premium and he moves to 600k... Entirely possible with the new cap in 2 years and that forward/rucks are a premium position.

You'd think a club that's likes its premiership chances would have a dip for 2-3 goals a game. Bulldogs/Norf (if Petrie retires) would be the main 2. Pies if they want to keep trying bandaid fixes maybe Hawks if they think he can extend their window.

Vickery would actually do really well at the hawks imo. Would really add even more to their forward line. Gunston vickery and rhoughie with all their smalls would be bloody good.

Yeah he can, but you wouldn't want to step on the loyalty of someone like Cotchin. I recall that in the past with some teams, such a move sparked a bit of an exodus.

So if he has signed until 2020 I wouldn't trade him. Besides, he may thrive under a new gameplan
I don't think any player is untradeable. In the words of the great Ted DiBiase " everybody has there price ....if another club said we will give you 2 first round draft pics for Cotch i would say no problem.

We would more than likely get a pick at the end of round1 for Ty. Which is about right and fair

I'm not as down on Ty as most are here, but if we would get a band 1 pick for him, I'd personally fly down to Melbourne and hire a car so I could personally dump him off at the Holden centre or wherever he ends up.

Keep our first pick. Especially if in top 5.

Trade Brandon Ellis, Shane Edwards, Shaun Grigg, Ben Griffiths, Bachar Houli and Reece Conca. Allow Ty Vickery go in FA hopefully to obtain first round draft pick.

Go out and get players in positions of need and as many draft picks as possible.

Get a new Recruiting team in before we do this. Sack Blair Hartley, Francis Jackson et all.

Build around our elite. Cotchin, Martin, Deledio, Riewoldt and Rance.
Yep...gotta be aggressive

Dan Richardson really is f***ing dense. He reckons we have the option of luring a "big fish" or going into the draft with our first round pick this off season. Does he know there are ways we can use our first round pick and lure a big fish? Has he ever heard of free agency? Has sacrificing one of the many overrated plodders on our list never crossed his mind?

agree with everything but the Edwards trade. Think he could be the small forward we are looking for.
Gotta trade big to get big
Think Rioli and Short will fill that small fwd role
Would miss Edwards amazing hands in close more than him being a small fwd
But I think he could get us a first rounder

Does anyone who follows GWS a bit know how Tom Downie is tracking? Obviously he's not gonna get a look in with Mumford there, but might be a good value pick up. You could probably get him for next to nothing.

Havent read every page in here but has anyone discussed who is and who SHOULD be managing our list going forward. Surely if FJ or BH are in line to be given the arse they should have already emptied their lockers. Dan Richo is the same. If not going to get renewed then WTF is he still doing here?

Ty is so ******* lazy he would expect someone to drive him from Punt rd oval to the Holden centre

The free agent list is pretty thin this year.

Rich, Watts, Grimes, the banned bombers and a bunch of 30+ year olds is pretty much it. Not too many "big fish" in that list.

Totally get and agree about trading big. But still need to keep a strong nucleus of A graders- Jack,Rancey, Cotch, Dusty and Titch are those players imo.
If we play our cards right and utilize FA we'll get the early picks we're after.
Also an article on the AFL site re the 2017 draft being a beauty, clubs are unlikely to trade future picks this year. That may may result in a quieter trade period this year.
