Richmond’s newly appointed general manager of football Neil Balme is confident that star players Brett Deledio, Jack Riewoldt and Dustin Martin will be at the club next season.
With the trade period lingering, reports of potential deals are making headlines and already two of the Tigers’ best players have been linked with moves to other clubs.
Some talk has Deledio as a potential target for Geelong while in-form midfielder Martin has been reportedly offered a lucrative long-term deal by Adelaide.
“Who’s got the money for Dustin?” said Balme when asked about the trade talk.
“Have you rang Adelaide about that? Well someone in this is not telling the absolute truth.
“Aren’t they all contracted (Deledio, Martin and Riewoldt)? Well you don’t want your good players going so I’m hoping and assuming they’ll all be there.
“Well here’s definitive – they’re contracted, Richmond people and in my opinion they definitely will stay.”
