You don't need to be the greatest kick nor the quickest player. What you need to be is the ones prepared to put your head over the footy and win it at all costs, if you don't win it ensure that your opponents don't get an easy possession. If you do win it drive it forwards however you can and back your teammates up the ground to at worse halve the contest. If the contest is halved the regroup at the next stoppage and go again.
All about effectiveness, we are ineffective with our possessions as were the Cats tonight. Just about won every stat and still lost the game.
If you dont have the right cattle who have footy smarts and the necessary skill set then effective footy is always going to be difficult.
The Cats tonight and us for most of the season were guilty of making under pressure turnovers (we are also kings of the non pressure turnover) which will kill you every time against the better defence to attack transitioning sides and its especially the case at the frenetic pace of finals footy.
Whether the Swans use reaction speed as a measure or whatever they use to assess recruits we need to follow suit because they just seem to pump out these robotic style players who simply know what its all about rather then the deer in headlight sorts we seem to attract.
