Should just go first day of the trade period and give the swans pick 6 for Mitchell, get it done.

Then either next years first for Prestia or a combo of players and picks if they are dead set on getting players in.

Martin, Cotchin, Mitchell, Prestia, Deledio, Vlastuin, Miles, Grigg

Such a better midfield group than what we've had

1. Get millions and millions and millions more out of the AFL so you can employ the best people
2. Get COLA that equates to an extra two A-graders
3. Use COLA to give superstar nine-year contract that the AFL will ensure doesn't hurt you if he only lasts six
4. Get the best player in the draft at pick 18 because no one else is allowed to draft him.

But yes, they are well-run. Stuart Maxfield (acquired under the 'Sydney are so shit they're allowed to steal your players' rule) has done very well.
Losing Maxxy *still* hurts.

But in listing all those advantages, Hannebery and Parker at picks 30 and 40...
Richmond's last elite player taken at > pick 30?

If you can't identify the guy that can identify the talent, you will always struggle. Can't say it simpler than that.
How many years has FJ had a job with us? Luckiest bloke on the planet.

Take vickery compo and lennon pick to the draft for some kpp our midfield is sorted with prestia and mitchell find a young forward and defender in the draft and where on our way to bigger and better things and maybe find a ruckmen in trade for a late pick as back up.
The value in the second-third rounds of this and most if not all drafts is in mids.

**** sydney their premierships are tainted with all the bullshit assistance they get

gws too

and gold coast when they do.

afl has screwed the old clubs big time
yes, tainted.

But what's our excuse for never finding value after the 1st round?

I wish we could blame that on some uneven playing field, but we can't, we're just #### at drafting

I know this is from a few pages back but no idea why we would even entertain the idea of getting Motlop from Geelong, the guy is bloody terrible. He is the complete opposite of contested football, and even his outside run is overrated.

Getting Mitchell and Prestia would be a pretty successful trade period. I would be looking to trade players and keep draft picks though, at least the 2017 one. We still need a bunch of young guys to come through the draft though, not just have the one or two quality players come in. Unfortunately, our list is that lacking in depth.

Also, I had a dream that Fyfe came to Richmond in 2018, so that is obviously going to come true.

Tell that to Derickx.
Who is still on Sydneys list somehow. Feels like we got rid of him so long ago.
He is good use in their NEAFL team, and even better around the Bondi circuit as a model/mouthpiece for the club. Sydney are not stupid, he is an inexpensive positive addition to their club. He will be delisted anyway after this season.

Its an interesting gig the AFL. FJ would be on 100k+ and the accountability is negligible.
How many BF posters would keep their jobs if they continually mucked up?

It's laughable what the Gold Coast media are suggesting on the Prestia trade.

http://www.goldcoastbulletin.com.au...e/news-story/fe7f769ed4b1573a32efe6a1d583c1ae

“With Richmond ... I’m not sure they have the right player. They won’t and shouldn’t trade (Dustin) Martin so I’d be grabbing their first round draft pick and on-trading for a quality midfielder from another club.

“Prestia should command an upcoming player of ability and potential so I’d aim for Daniel Rioli. The alternative could be (Trent) Cotchin.”

They also have had the advantage of their kids being developed in a competition of lesser quality and therefore gaining alot of confidence. I believe there will be remarkable difference our player development once the VFL side becomes competitive.
