When we are proven wrong than I wont be so negative. Interesting that Prestia has released a statement he wants out of GC to Melbourne Club. No mention of us.

I've convinced myself he is sewn up, so if anything happens to the contrary then I will join the negative nancy bandwagon.

Granted he probably won't kick 7 on the best defender in the comp but he'll be good for 35-40 goals, given he got 26 from 17 games with our rubbish delivery.
Maybe? But I believe his poor on field work ethic will more than likely see him play more games at Box Hill than Hawthorn. If the Hawks can correct this, and in all reality they'll be far more assertive than we were with him, then they'll win the day because Ty is more than capable, just very lazy. If he doesn't lift, well I'm more than happy for us to be banking whatever we get from him either as a FA or trade.

That's the first thing I thought when I read 'a Melbourne club'. The last 2 weeks haven't been a great advertisement for the club. mind you, if the reported money he's being offered is correct, he may not care.

Vlastuin is just another foot soldier.
Does some good things from time to time but the reality is that I don't think he will ever become a match winner.
A player at pick 9 should be elite.
He's had a fair bit of time now to make the move into midfield but why the coaches persist with him in the back line is a mystery.
Is it a fitness thing? Who knows.
2007 - McEvoy
2008 - Ziebell
2009 - No. 9 Andrew Moore
2010 - Dion Prestia
2011 - Adam Tomlinson
2012 - Vlastuin
2013 - Salem
2014 - Darcy Moore

Some good, some ok.... definitely not all elite...

Surely more time in the midfield next year.... surely

I think guys like Hodge won't put up with his BS.

Is it normal for players to explicitly state the club they wish to join in their statements?
I'm pretty sure Dangerfield also said to a Victorian based club when he first advised of his intention to move. I'm sure I saw that somewhere.

Watched them about 8 times live (not for 3 weeks though).... just haven't seen much about that makes me think he'll be much at AFL level. Prepared to give him another contract but can understand why he has yet to be re-signed.

Which of his attributes make you think he'll be a star/good player?
Another good performance on Saturday by Butler. That makes it an excellent last 7 rounds.

If you can't see him having a future, well let's just say then guys like C Ellis have no future either.

I wouldn't have thought it was. The general public normally find out from other sources. Generally the clubs that are chasing a signature but don't get it leak it to the media.

Seen plenty from C.Ellis that I like....most of it at senior level which Dan hasn't had a chance to yet. At the risk of repeating myself I hadn't seen a heap from Butler that made me stand up and say wow. I also said that I hadn't seen him for about a month... so if he has played good footy in that last month then I hadn't seen it. Which I quite clearly stated. Sorry Dan to upset you.

hate them all
I personally don't really want to trade Edwards as I think that when he is at his best, he is one of our best, but I can understand why his name is being thrown around.

he's good when we are playing well, when the heat comes on he crumbles, his Finals tally's of 11, 11 & 8 say it all......
thats 30 disposals.... in 3 games!

Hawthorn only got pick 19 for Franklin, and he is on ok money so who really knows how it works
I have no idea.. But it seems like ladder position of both teams has something to do with compo picks
A player going from a bottom team to a top team results in that bottom team getting a high draft pick

Edwards needs to absolutely go on the table. 2nd rounder likely, maybe a late first rounder. Would definitely be talking to Gold Coast about him. They have picks and need players. We need picks.

By the way his body language was terrible against the Suns.

I think the Frawley compo is a fair comparison, as far as the situation anyway. Both Vickery and Frawley leaving low ranked club to high ranked club and you would think Vickery would get similar coin to Frawley.

What coin would need to be offered to get us a band one compo?

lol if we got the same compo as melb got for frawley there would be dancing in the streets. Zero chance of that though.
