I wonder if we would be any chance to pick up Nathan Vardy (Geelong) this off-season. I have always rated his talent and I believe he would be a great addition (if injury free) to our ruck and tall forward stocks.

Anderson going with edwards brandon and conca for prestia. I do know we are desperate to keep our first and thamt is one way to do it but will gcs take it?
Long term good idea, short term probably not. Would hurt our depth next year. Essentially 3 of our best 25 and swapping them for 1 player. If Hardwick thinks we have a team capable of playing finals next year then he must rate them. Pick 6 isn't going to come straight into the team next year and be in the best 25. Hardwick is all about next year, not long term, as he knows anything less than finals will result in him being without a job.

Those 3 but would hope for maybe a 2nd rounder as well? Edwards was an elite forward 2 years ago, Ellis in the AA squad. Prestia hardly gets on the park.
Yes sheds was ellis was and the other spud never was. Prestia for all his injuries has played nearly 100 games as you pointed and is still young and for us to have a go at him surely they have looked into it and are confident.

Being prepeared to lose all those players makes me feel we aren't going to the draft with pick 6 but looking at one or two kids already in the system to trade for.
Well i hope they are better than the ones that cant get games for their clubs.

Also Ellis is younger than Prestia and has played more games and nearly has the same amount of brownlow votes.
Ellis is getting pretty underrated here. With a proper game plan he is a very good player.

guruisatiger mentioned the other day that Norf might be looking at our pick 6 to use in a trade for Swallow from GWS and we might be looking at exchanging that for a couple of players. So I was thinking more along the lines of young players like Durdin and ???. Imo this would be better than using pick 6 in the draft. We need KPP's first if we are going to rebuild/recharge whatever.

Nope... He's peaked and has turned into a plodder. Regardless of gameplan you can still exert effort defensively and he is weak as piss in this department, falls over and always loses 1 on 1s.... See when he fell over against the Saints in the goal square trying to get a free kick? I would say that Ellis and edwards would get the deal tho
