I am still hoping our remaining priority lies with a couple of tall defenders a promising tall hit up fwd and a bit of ruck cover.
Something like MacKenzie from wce would be my #1 target. Would look to do a deal with gws to snare Tomlinson kpf and Corr kpd/third tall def.

Structurally we would look like this

B/ Corr - MacKenzie -####
HB/ #### - Rance - ####
C/ #### - Martin - ####
HF/ #### - Tomlinson - ####
F/ #### - Riewoldt - Griffiths 2nd ruck/fwd
R/ Hampson - #### - ####

Fill the blanks in with your mids and specialist flankers.

How you could a) Call Bartel a reject and b) compare him with Grimes and Minson shows your lack of football knowledge in the extreme.

Bartel a reject Hahahaha!

He's done more than our club has for 34 years!!!

Tigerbob, I'd rather we regenerate through younger players, than de-generate with a player that may only have a year left. If Geelong were to push him out and Jimmy had to look elsewhere he would be a reject, wouldn't he? If the cats want him to stay then Bartel will stay.

boomer said he wants to go on. wouldn't put it out there if he wasn't confident of getting a gig. also bucks is desperate linked to dal santo/wells/boomer/maric/mayne hope its true they can over pay on these old campaigners and lose someone like de goey
Can't see boomer going to the Pies. If he does play on it will be for a shot at the premiership. The Pies are far off from that. They only finished one game and one ladder position above us this year.

Why do you think so? Genuinely want to know.

I think he'd be a great fit for Richmond as he can provide a lot of onfield leadership, which is something that this club desperately needs. The leaders at the club play a big role in the morale and dynamics of the group, so we definitely need players that have even been on-field leaders in Premiership sides.

I'd get both Stevie J and Bartel. Imagine how much the morale and onfield leadership would change at this club with them in it.
I'm a great fan and admirer but I just think we are at a stage that is for building from bottom up.

Will play for money.

Relax FFS. yeah you nailed it when talking about our supporters never learn. We have a couple of kids to work with and see if they can cut it, we have unearthed nothing at this stage. They got games because we were s**t. We continued to be s**t with them in. They showed signs and thats all.

Take it easy, Im not calling them champs. Just saying its better than having mature duds taking up rookie spots and not even being in with a chance.

Cause they lost all there 1st rd draft picks for Adams and Treloar and it would cost them nothing to get the older guys still with abit of talent left in them
That may be their strategy but I don't think it's a good one. Recruiting one or two older blokes at the most may be beneficial for providing leadership and experience for the younger players, but having any more than that is just robbing a younger player a spot in the side and denying them an opportunity to get experience. Also having an older player will ensure they move up the ladder a couple of spots than what they should be. So instead of for example getting pick 8-10 next year they will be getting pick 11-13.

We have tried to top up when we were mediocre in the past and all it did was to ensure we stayed mediocre over a long period. Topping up on older players is more a strategy for clubs who is just short of a premiership. As much as I don't think Dimma is right for us anymore, at least he isn't panicing like Buckley by topping up to try to save his job at the expense of the list.
