I like a lot of that, only question from me is why wouldn't you offer B Ellis, or Miles to GC instead of Deledio. That would be enough to get it done, although we might not get 24 back, but you'd rather have Deledio than a speculative second rounder. Also very little chance Deledio will agree to go to GC.
Combination of what we'd get back for them i.e only Prestia, and Deledios age. Don't think of the second round being the Deledio replacement as that is what Prestia is, the second rounder is upgrading our 3rd round pick 20 odd spots to give us access to a better quality kid.

If we get Prestia and Hartlett getting Yarran back on the park is a must!!
Those 3 plus a healthy Deledio would take us back into the eight.

Jon Ralph didn't seem to optimistic about Yarran coming back at all though

What if we finish bottom and we have given next years first?
Not out of the question.
2 things RD.
Carltoon,Essendrugs and Go North! are still in the comp.
We may not want to keep next years account young Naish.
Getting Naish with a 2nd sounds better than our 1st.

If we shouldn't target a 26yo, then by what reasoning should we keep a 29yo (next year) Jack Riewoldt going forward? In my opinion, we either offload 30yo Deledio + 29yo Riewoldt for picks, or we keep both and aim for Top 4 over the coming 3 years (which means targeting the likes of Hartlett).

We are reluctant to trade in 26 year olds but when 28/29 year olds are already on our list, we have no problem keeping them. Clearly that's a contradiction of philosophy brought on by feelings of loyalty.
No I just don't think adding these blokes gets us to top four.
I think we are miles from it and would have no issue whatsoever trading any of those blokes you mentioned for picks.
I think that's what we should do.

hate them all
Sorry to intrude, but apparently this random Twitter account says the Hartlett report is false. Would I trust the account? Probably not, but still...

Couldn't believe you'd give up that much for him
given the tweet says the Club is concerned the pick could be top 5, i'd guess it's a poor attempt at comedy.

These trades are unrealistic.

Deledio for Prestia is unrealistical, let alone a pick upgrade thrown in. GC have no use for a 30 year old Lids.

And Mitchell for an 11 pick downgrade is not happening either.
Suns want mature players rather than picks and reports are that they have asked for Deledio. A 30 year old Deledio sitting permanently inside the F50 for the Suns would be a real weapon. As I said with Deledio also contracted if the Suns want someone of his quality then the upgrade is what I'd want in return as well.

As for Mitchell, as mentioned the Swans can only offer him $320k per year and Hawthorn want JOM so their trade position isn't that strong. So throw our hat into the ring with the lure of a top 6 pick for Sydney which is a free swing for them with no academy kid to bid for. For a reward like that they might be prepared to send their late first round pick with him. As they say if you don't ask you don't get. In saying that I'd prefer to keep 6 in the hope that Brodie is there.

Take out 2016, we have 3 years of good footy behind us. At this stage, 2016 is more likely an aberration. We should be able to bounce back next year. Our list isn't that bad. We got a good look at plenty of young kids this year and hopefully Dimma and co. realise our game plan isn't up to scratch. Although, I suspect the game will go more defensive in 2017.
Just don't see our list as being good at all. Happy to be proven wrong of course.
