Is everyone happy if we just got Prestia and picks this year?

Is Nankervis really much chop? I really don't want a big lumbering ruckman simply cause we need one. Would rather battle with what we have until we can draft some good ones.

I'd rather become the team that drafts, then turns over fringe players for more draft picks each year or two, and only gets players from other clubs that we identify we want and basically get for nothing (like Bulldogs getting Biggs from Sydney).

Besides Prestia, given we're committed and he nominated us, I'd much rather just be a drafting side and not bother selling the farm for Fyfe or Mitchell, as great as it would be to have them.

I really hope we can get Prestia for a combo of players, or at worst using our 2017 1st, and get some more 2nd rounders for the likes of Conca, Edwards, Vickery, Lennon and maybe B. Ellis.

How about we focus on luring a complete bull in Ollie Wines. A line breaker and a contested ball winner that attacks the man and the ball.

Port need salary cap space thanks to us and Norf bumping up Hartlett's salary last year. Might be an opening there as a result. Maybe offer Townsend as an ideal replacement... Only cheaper! Give him a front loaded 5 year deal, $550-$600k with an option of a 6th clause.
I dont think port would offer townsend $500-600k for 5 years.

HERE'S a scenario no one seems top have pondered.
If coach Hardwick - and I use the word coach loosely - and the football department are so confident this is going to be a quick rebound and we'll play finals next year, why would we not keep Deledio, keep pick six and trade in Prestia for our 2017 first rounder (which will be pick 10-18).
I mean the noise from Hardwick says we have the cattle, well we can do all the above and see you in finals.
Or does the football department and coach not believe their own propaganda?
Isn't this what they are doing?

If Deledio agrees, Gold Coast WILL be his home. Massive if I hear but it's what both clubs want.
You've gotta laugh at posts like this. Do you really believe the club wants Deledio to go?

Here are some facts;
  • Deledio is in our top 5 players.
  • Deledio is contracted.
  • Deledio has repeatedly stated that he is happy at Richmond
  • The club have never mentioned, in a public forum that they are looking to trade Deledio, or any of our other big 5, for that matter.
  • Deledio has a young family
  • Deledio is very well paid at RFC.
  • Deledio has strong friendships at RFC
  • Deledio has to agree to any move. The club couldn't convince Astbury to go to Brisbane last year. How do they think they'll convince Deledio to go to GC!
So, from that one can deduce, Deledio, ain't goin' nowhere!!!

Yep - Just Prestia, or maybe losing just one of the top 5.
Nanakervis or someone - Is Soldo going to make it in in the next 2 years?
Conca, Vickery, Lennon for picks - Yes. That brings the total to 7 experienced players including Morris & probably Yarran not playing next year.

Probably use the picks to try to find some nasty committed gold like a Parker.
Probably use Free Agency to try to cover some of the loss of experience (but only Quality). Even Harvey sounds like a short term, example setter, training standard bargain at the moment.

All of that can, and most probably will be done. The caveat is that they wont use next years first round pick. Prestia will come for a player and third round pick.

Nankervis would be an upgrade on Hampson.

you need to research before you write.geelong would of have pick 16,but that went to carlton who pass it gws.so geelong has pick 34 this year.so geelong would possibly only trade players and up grade picks
oh yeah , was that part of the lachie henderson deal?

The oppo poster or the response? So many new people on here and other boards since September.... All with inside info as well....
The response.. the hostile one. Not necessary.
There's a lot on here who you wonder how they conduct themselves in life.
Not worried about it in the slightest but there's at least three posters on here who resort to name calling and insults on my posts.
You have to ask why?
We all have different opinions.

Anyone think Lennon is a chance to stay? Recently uploaded a picture of him travelling with kmac, vlas and elton from an end of season trip to Facebook and seems good friends with these boys from everything I've seen in social media circles. It seems strange given his close friendships with these blokes that he'd want out. I understand he's got to look after his footballing future first and foremost but it still makes me wonder.

He's the most talented junior footballer I've ever played with or against, and that's not just a token comment given I played with Bontempelli for a number of years. I just can't believe how it's panned out since his AFL career started. He has been cruelled by injuries hip, knee, shoulder and concussion over the last 3 years and I've just been waiting for him to get a clear run at it but it's never come to fruition and now he looks gone. It's a big dissapointment because we will get back maybe pick 25-30 if we are lucky and he's worth so much more based on talent alone.

I know we keep going over and over the same players but I'm convinced this is the one we can't afford to lose. This is one that could come back to haunt us in years to come. He just needs to be locked into that high Half forward role for a sustained period and he'd thrive I'm sure.
