You've gotta laugh at posts like this. Do you really believe the club wants Deledio to go?

Here are some facts;
  • Deledio is in our top 5 players.
  • Deledio is contracted.
  • Deledio has repeatedly stated that he is happy at Richmond
  • The club have never mentioned, in a public forum that they are looking to trade Deledio, or any of our other big 5, for that matter.
  • Deledio has a young family
  • Deledio is very well paid at RFC.
  • Deledio has strong friendships at RFC
  • Deledio has to agree to any move. The club couldn't convince Astbury to go to Brisbane last year. How do they think they'll convince Deledio to go to GC!
So, from that one can deduce, Deledio, ain't goin' nowhere!!!
Astbury failed a medical at Brisbane, that's why he stayed

We may have had a shit trade period last year but there's still some enjoyment coming from what we did
- Pies have no first round pick
- Geelong are now shopping Motlop because they overpaid to keep him
- Port are now shopping Hartlett because they overpaid to keep him
It so easily could have been us...

you need to match offer first.then you can trade or he go to draft
Incorrect, a club who matches an offer, and the player is happy to stay then the club must accept that player. A player can only reject a matched offer. Its the threat of matching the offer which gets the better deal.

Coz I ******* hate Geelong and their fans and don't care for their bullshit. If one of our posters wants to post, even if they're not accurate, not gonna have some Geelong clown tell them what they can and can't write on our board
Right.... So regardless. His point was right. Even the most basic research (reading through this thread for a start or the Lids thread) would have uncovered the fact that the Cats can't trade a first round pick (without trading back into the first round prior to that). It sucks that someone from here didn't point it out to him first but let's be honest.... some of the 'Richmond' posters on here aren't actually Richmond supporters to start with. Who cares who the facts come from, they are the facts....

Fremantle has delisted Matt de Boer, Clancee Pearce, Tendai Mzungu and Jack Hannath from the senior list.
Gee the rebuild has begun at freo. de boer, Pearce and mzungu were all relatively important in getting the dockers to a granny in 2013. Could do worse than having a look at mzungu and Hannath as a potential rookie. That of course depends on how far the club feel we are away from contending for finals in the immediate future. Should get a much clearer idea of where the club feels we are at based on the recruiting strategy in the next few weeks. I personally believe we can turn it round much quicker than expected once we get kmac, houli, lids, cellis, hopefully yaz back to full fitness/full seasons add Prestia and another year into menadue, Rioli, Markov, short, castagna, Drummond

All these so called footy experts keep talking about clubs developing a "spine" of players before they can advance yet want us to trade ours out
Full spine or 3 point spine?

Rance - Martin - Riewoldt

What would be our 5 point spine?

Rance - Astbury - Martin - Deledio/Griffiths - Riewoldt?

Baffled. I had hoped for their sake that they had to increase their offer, to do it t themselves... ouch. Do you know anything about Hartlett? We offered him a big deal as well and Port allegedly upped their offer.
No idea about Hartlett but he'd be a good get for Richmond.

Didnt Astbury ask for a trade last year?
He stayed and had his best year
Hopefully Lennon can do the same thing.
Hopefully.

I reckon Astbury has better mentality though. Has battled through everything, so much njury and won his spot in the team

I could be wrong here, I don't mind Lennon but he comes across as a bit weak minded.
