Mitchell is far better than Hill. Don't know where Walters came from either, he's from WA. Probably in that trade Sydney just get pick/s

Hawthorn: Tom Mitchell, Fre 2017 3rdRd Pick
Fremantle: Brad Hill, Haw Pick 50-54, Syd Pick 50-54
Sydney: Haw Pick 15-18, Fre Pick 38-40

No thanks! PASS!

So we trade Mitchell for pick 15-18...you have to be kidding me! A 2nd rounder makes no difference. A first which has to be inside the 12 would be a minimum and that is reasonable. Would rather deal with Carlton.

Fair enough, I was basing it off the current draft order. With Carlton I would say a swap with first round picks may work, or what player would interest you from Carlton?

Their first is very fair, would be comfortable giving them back our 2nd. Not sure who would interest me from Carlton, Zach Tuohy would be he is re-signing, and most of their players are quite young. Would rather just get Carlton's first and go to the draft with that, get a player like Venables, etc.

Many players have been of interest to freo. Doesn't mean teams hand over players once another team is interested in them. Teams were interested in Cameron, Shiel, smith, Patton, Coniglio, kelly, Haynes, etc. lobb has had zero reports of homesickness and has lived away from home since he was a young lad working FIFO. Also spent a minimal amount of time in wa over the offseason and returned to Sydney. These are not the actions of a player with a burning desire to wear purple

This is not the first time I have seen article like this .. so as I originally said , Id suspect GWS being diligent would investigate options just incase he does go somehow... although how the deal gets done Im not sure. GWS would be as well placed as anyone to get Fyfe I guess but his wage would be difficult to handle.

Freo should absolutely offer their first pick (pick 3?) for lobb , McCarthy and a 3rd rounder

I know that leaves freo with little in the way of pics to add to their midfield , but that shouldn't be an issue. Draft mids in this draft with the 2 3rd rounders , take some rookies and go for mids next season.

Pick 3 for Lobb is a possibilty if they are feeling generous.
But no way pick 3 for Lobb McCarthy and a 3rd rounder.
Not even buying a drink with that offer.

Pick 3 for Lobb is absolutely laughable.

Lobb well on his way to being the most overrated player in the game.

Hahahahahahaha. No.

Lobb and Mccarthy for pick 3 is probably about right. Maybe later round pick movements but little else.

Saints trade 2017 1st to GWS for jack Steele and late 2016 st (16-18)

Saints trade 2 2016 1sts (9 and 16-18) to Essendon for Hurley + 2nd round pick (likely hibbered pick)

GWS gain 2017 1st, lose Steele and 2016 1st

Essendon gain 2 x 2016 1sts, lose Hurley & Hibbered

Saints lose 2016+2017 firsts, gain Hurley, Steele and 2016 second.

What about Fremantle's pick 3 and 2017 2nd rounder (pick 25ish) for Lobb, McArthy and Coniglio

Assuming Coniglio happy to go home

Seems potentially like a win-win trade

Don't think gws trade Steele for an upgrade on a first round pick. Not knowing how it will pan out next season it could only be an upgrade from pick 16 to pick 12.

Gws won't like that and will have better offers. It also relies on one of their first round picks being that late (whose do they have pies , Geelong ? )

Also pick 9 and a late late first for Hurley might warrant a second round pick back , but it wouldn't be an early pick. Like pick 30ish

Coniglio is one of the best midfielders in the most talented young midfield in the comp. He's worth pick 3 alone, probably more. There's no way GWS would ever agree to that trade.

Yeah and while we are at it we will throw in Jezza. FMD.

At least try to put a fair trade hypothetical.

Pick 3 = Coniglio - fair value
Pick 25ish = Lobb - unders

McArthy steak knives

So it's an early-mid 2nd rounder short

Pretty close to a fair deal

Those deals just don't work. No way will the Giants decide to give up a player like Steele AND a very important pick for absolutely no return in the first 12 months.
