I don't think Rat will be overly keen to move interstate so if there's any local interest I daresay they'd be the early favourites. If he did elect to leave I'd be looking for a second rounder; he's very clearly an AFL standard midfielder in my mind.
we dont currently have a 2nd rounder...

no player that catches your interest?

If Rat goes we're more likely to look for picks we can flip for Hurley or some other target in a package deal I would say.

With that said, if he does elect Port a deal will get done. Perhaps a '17 pick. In terms of players...not anyone you'd want to lose. I do wonder if we would still be interested in Lobbe but his value is almost impossible to gauge now, and that contract is a killer.

I'm serious haha

I'd play him half forward flank. He'd be an upgrade on Neade in my opinion :)
Imo, if a team picks him up it's to play him as a midfielder. He's an ordinary forward, which is half the reason he hasn't been able to get a consistent run at AFL level with us. Picking him up as a forward/mid is a bit of a waste of his talents. Just my view though of course.

yeah, i reckon.

would like to get him to play on a wing. Interchangeable with Palmer next year.

very quick and has elite foot skills, which is something we are lacking
I think maybe 2017 2nd rounder? Is possibly the value of him. I would of said this seasons 2nd rounder but it's at Gold Coast.

He is a goal kicking mid. use to rush his disposals a bit but seems very composed now.

at this moment, a lot of us would trade anyone on our list for the right price.
who were you thinking?

Agree on Lobbe. 2014 was out of the box, so to speak. 2015 we all saw the decline, as he couldnt play with another ruck in the side. We were crazy to knock back the 1st you offered for him, but he didnt want to leave...
2016 continued his decline..

reckon with the lack of decent talls available this year, he could fetch as high as a late 2nd, early 3rd.
although, IMO you dont need a ruck. Roughead is capable, so is Campbell. reckon you need to draft a young ruck, rather than get an experienced one.

I really like Clurey and am intrigued by the thought of Hartlett getting fed by Bont/Libba/Dahl, even if his form hasn't been the best this year. Not advocating straight swaps but they'd be players I'd have my eye on if pushed.

Lobbe's just so hard to value, especially with the 4? year contract on his head. Was terrific at the end of 2014, just never went on with it.

Only watched him a little, what's Amon's story?
was selected for Toumpas around round 9, when Toumpas didnt deserve to be dropped IMO and Amon didnt warrant selection...
(basically the story of our season)

has had only 2 games with under 10 touches, and apart from the Swans game, gets his 15-20 touches a game, with around 70% DE. knows where the goals are as well, highlighted by his 3 goal haul against the Suns, last year.
been one of our better players in the past 4-5 weeks. tbh, i wouldnt get rid of him for Hrovat as they are basically the same player

Clurey has shown he has what it takes to be a good AFL defender. 193cm, so probably more suited to the 3rd tall role.

Hartlett signed a 5 year deal at the end of last year, so you would have to take on that contract i think. Is one of those players who would be great in a good team and is crap in a crap team.

I'd probs say no to Hrovat. If we can get a youngish fwd/ruck like Nankervis (swans supporter said 3rd rounder is enough) to backup Ryder and Trengove that is all the trading in I'd do.

Everyone else on our list that we trade out should be used to get picks for the draft.

Jars would be one of the few players who would be considered 'untradeable', now that he is playing his natural position. One of the few players you cant tackle and has great acceleration.
That's why i mentioned him, i like the look of him. but seriously Hrovat has very high upside to with a full year after a full pre season.
