Yep no problems. It was all about hypotheticals.

Deledio won't leave. His career will fizzle out and he call recall the good times, like when the club was satisfied with making finals.
We could put any of our top 5 players on the table and get stuff all in return.
#weareeeveryonesgrandfinal even off field!

It's pretty hard to be competitive when you're hunted like Richmond.

He'd be pretty dangerous in your side. I'd love him at Geelong and I'm sure all clubs would want him - but at what price?
Yeah that's the question. I'd be nervous giving up our first but it's hard to see Richmond accepting anything less (and would probably even ask for more).

McBean, Markov, Castagna, Rioli and Hampson IN
Maric, Grigg, Vickery, Lambert and Broad OUT

Maric looks cooked as an AFL player
Fair first step. The real test will be when, as expected, the kids don't do so well in their first game. Will they hold their nerve and give them a block of games or will they feel the need to rush back in mature players.

As a first step, they have passed in my book. Well done for them doing this.

Stay tuned...

Hunted? Who has been taken from your club in the last 10 years that would've had you in a better position. I don't actually know, but off the top of my head I'm not sure what you mean by hunted.

In regards to your other comment about top 5 players? Dustin Martin would receive a bit. Riewoldt would get fair compo... but then yeah the next rung would get stuff all... Oh Rance... he'd get you something in return.

players age is definitely taken into account when trading. we didn't hold clubs over a barrel and accepted fa compensation. but they wouldn't have coughed up much more.

dalsanto second rounder. goddard was about 13 from memory. loyalty aside what 29 yo is worth a top 10 pick? deledio has been a gun but not likely to get any better. is somewhat injury prone and it is rare for footballers to play at the highest level post 32. so maybe 3 good years left.

if you could get pick 12 in an even draft or pick 5ish by paying a chunk of salary you would have to consider it. won't be part of their next premiership side. assuming he is open to it of course.

If Richmond are really serious about rebuilding and not just refreshing, then Deledio and Riewoldt should both be on the table. If the next premiership is 5 years away (and what rebuild is quicker?), neither will participate in it. And both have currency now. A few teams might offer a bit to get Reiwoldt, thinking he could get them over the line for a premiership. Bulldogs would be cursing the money tied up with Boyd if he was on the market.

And given you're lack of elite talent, packaging Reiwoldt and Deledio up with paying chunks of their salary would also sweeten the deal and not cost themlong term.

No chance on Jack. I'd argue he's playing career best footy at the moment. Not only is he the Tigers' most important player (no other scoring threat really), but he is an absolute necessity for when they draft a new boy. Jack seems like a fantastic mentor and the Tigers will want young forwards to replicate his style in every way.
Who was there to teach Franklin and Roughead how to play? To teach Hawkins on the field? If they really want to rebuild, and not refresh, then it takes a lot of pain and Jack's form actually boosts his value.

We'll see. There was a lot of anger from Richmond fans at the idea the club was afraid to really rebuild. It will be interesting to see what approach they take.

Hoskin elliot is 100% unhappy and looking to move to melbourne (city not team)
Maybe but who is happy when there constantly injured.
Hes contracted and with his injuries the club would be better holding him for another year and with some luck he's injury free from now on.If he plays well next year he increases his value. If we are chasing a Deledio type he would come into the mix though I would have thought.

GWS fans, where do you value (in terms of picks): Tomlinson, Marchbank, Steele, Barrett, and Stewart?
Tomlinson- hard to gauge but about 20
.Hopefully he plays well from now on.Steele about the same and he also gets a chance tomorrow.Stewart on potential alone/size late 20s.Barrett 3rd or fourth round

I was only putting the question..as its a hypothetical thread.... As players missing selection like Lang have been named as possible movement candidates in the media I put in here to gauge interest. I doubted that there would be much. Certainly have not heard that he was specifically unhappy... yet any player missing selection is a probable player for other clubs to talk to.

Gauge worth I guess ... to some degree Id say a lot of supporters from other clubs would say Darcy who. As I posted a bit later.. the ironical part of talent in draft and just out of draft by a couple of years. A kid like him coming off a broken leg..was still worthy of a R1... yet put him into a high level system , full time training and quality inputs.. and we would be lucky to get an R1 , more like an R2 for him.

Deledio won't be traded, he's worth more to us than what he is to other clubs.

How much salary do people think Vickery will be paid? Has kicked 22 goals and looks on track for 35 - 40 as a key forward who is coming into his prime age wise.

I think maybe 450-500k over 4. At a rough guess. Would be band 3.

Vickery must be good- he's been dropped for Liam McBean!

Vickery is a failed pick but you might get a late 2nd.
