No doubting that. By all accounts he presented well and ended up with a few marks and 2 behinds. Impressive stuff.
Honestly didn't see the game, I was at the races and it was a thrashing so I didn't bother watching it on replay. White needs to prove this one wasn't just one of his fluke games.

Look it is a balancing act, you can't play too many rookies, but at the same time whats the point going back to Hunt, Moore, etc...you know what they are, C or D graders at the absolute best.
I think what threw them off was the first option youngsters are your Corey Ellis, Nathan Drummond, Ben Lennon type. They'd be preferred to the Hunts and Moores of the world. But they were injured and Hunt is preferred to the Castagnas and Markovs. Hopefully world order is restored though.

Win or lose these youngsters should play every game for the rest of the year. It allows you to do a few things- but primarily you can make a call on some players at the end of the year, who knows you may get another club to pay more for that player at the trade table.

Hey that's a solid game from Vickery, might make his season highlights.

On a serious note what do you feel he will get? 3rd rounder?
He's a FA. So the hope would be an end of first. But it will be more likely be a second rounder which for our ladder position is handy (we also don't have a second pick this year). All depends on the contract he's offered elsewhere. And Adelaide could throw half decent coin if Jenkins indeed leaves.

I wouldn't know where to start at a trade table. He's a tall, pick #8, and his best is good. Similar talls have netted picks around 18-25 and Richmond would want that. Not sure many would offer that though on current form and rightly so.

Surely he can't be much worse than Jake Melksham who got pick 25. A mid to low 2nd roumder would be pretty fair. Not that I'd give our 2nd but that would be about the value.

Yeah I'd agree. Hopefully the Crows throw 500 over 4 and push it into Band 2 (end of first). ;)

I wouldn't hold out hope on Adelaide.

The Vickery rumors were just part of the ongoing negotiations with Jenkins' management.

Now that seems very close to resolved, and Josh should be locked in over the next couple of weeks.

There's not many examples of Richmond players going elsewhere and succeeding.

I think clubs will assume the players just don't have it and the system has damaged their development.

I'm not sure why anyone would trade for a midcareer players who's running around in Richmond's two's.

Lids for Doggies 1st and 2 of Fletcher Roberts/Hrovat/Jong/Honeychurch?
All depends how we rated the three mentioned, have only really seen Jong play and wouldn't want him.

I remember Hrovat and Honeychurch being talked up, though we don't really need that type of player.

I wouldn't do that. I'd be nervous enough parting with a 10-15 pick for a 29 year old who last played a full season three years ago, let alone adding two depth players on top of that. I'd probably end up giving our first pick for him but I don't think I'd add anything more.

Putting the two players suggest aside. If I was a doggies support I wouldn't worrie about parting was with a late first for a player like lids.

Players who can cover such a broad scope of roles and play them at A-grade level are very rare Atm.
What this allows teams to do is play there fringe players in the role that vest suits them and have lids fill the weakest positions.

It's no coincidence after our inside mids let my Hawks down over the first half of the year Hodge was put though a mini midfielders preseasion. And it's no coincidence Burgoyne is only put in the middle as a break in a case of emergency type. These blokes are the blokes that make everyone better juwt being out there.

Bob Murphy, nuff said.

Yeah that's the question. I'd be nervous giving up our first but it's hard to see Richmond accepting anything less (and would probably even ask for more).
Like him as a player Dannnnn but too fragile for me. Achilles issues can be career defining injuries. He hasn't done a preseason or played a full year in the last 2-3. When you get these type of injuries they tend to be managed rather than fixed. Look at Daniel Wells, he started season on fire. But he has missed probably 4/5 games now. If we were to pick up Lids we would have to potentially give up a first-rounder+ and in return get maybe 75 games if we are lucky.
I would trade a Jong, Hrovat, Honey, Dickson for him but not first rounder. I know the Tigers would want more than the players I would offer. He is just that awkward age with injury concerns.
