Unfortunately they will have deleted whatever it was that he did - but if it was that eat a dick freo flogs post then I am outraged because that was POTY worthy.

I dont read the main board or post on it for these reasons. Some are posters allowed to troll, some arent, so many people with superiority complex's, its like a worse version of bay 13.

Clearly he lost a bunch of cash on the grand final, because he's been in a filthy mood since Saturday.

:D

Bad luck TK. But srsly, you should never put money on Buddy and Tippett to deliver in the GF tho, you will only be disappointed. :p

Whispers that Sydney are open to trading Tippett to free up the cash to keep Mitchell.

Yes, he's a flog, but he could take us to the next level; thoughts? We'd have to give plenty but we have the cash to spare and the Swans need to cut $$

See above post, a Mr September/October he aint. Reminds me of Mitch Clark, seems to like his money and not much else.

I say this seriously, id rather us go after Vickery on a cheaper contract than after Tippett with what he is on. 900K per year for a guy who doesnt perform in big games, what a joke.

Who does he replace? Hogan, watts, petracca, Kent, Garlett, Pedersen, Vandenberg even Weideman and maybe Hullet

He probably doesn't replace any of them, but you never know. Just an idea in case he stays, rather than looks elsewhere.

At least if he played in that role for Casey, he'd be a solid back-up forward, as opposed to being a back-up HB flanker, of which we have many.

Its not the flog thing that would concern me - its more that he genuinely doesn't seem too bright. I don't know if that would impact hugely on his football, but I wonder sometimes. He has the same kind of look about him as Jake Carlisle - lights on but nobody home.

I'm not saying we should be looking only at mensa candidates with glasses. Maybe I am saying that. I don't know what I am saying.

Agreed. Tippett would probably be better for us since having Gawn would mean he could spend most of the game in the forward line and he seems to play better when he's either playing as a KPF with brief stints in the ruck, or solely as a ruck resting forward from time to time. This 50/50 sorta split the Swans have had with him and Naismith didn't really help his form. However even with a clearer role he wouldn't be worth the $ and picks we'd have to throw up to get him. Isn't he almost 30 anyway?
That said, I wouldn't want us getting Vickery either. Even on a bargain contract I don't think he'd be worth it. At his age, experience and size he should be a consistent forward threat and solid relief ruck. He's neither. Keep sending Richmond our spuds; don't help them out by taking some off their hands. If Hullett can get some solid form at Casey he'd be a better option that Vickery and would at least have the 'he's young; big blokes take time' excuse to fall back on for doing stuff all.

Fair enough, I'm not sure I would want him either. Other Swans who might be available are Nankervis and Towers, both of whom would interest me

Id take Nankervis for a reasonable price for sure. A very capable back up ruck and there for the day if the unthinkable and unmentionable were to happen.

Trade radio seems to be suggesting that Tippett might get traded to free up space so they can keep Mitchell. Worth having a look at? based off of his grand final performance you'd scream no, but i think he is pretty decent and could play that forward role as well as rotate in ruck which is what we are after. Beats chasing Vickery for that role and is hell of a lot better than Dawes.

They'd want to be paying 300-400K of his salary for us, no way at 900k PA.

Also, we dont even have any draft picks to give, no way would i be parting with next years first for him.

True and his contract doesn't expire until 2018. His age too does put me off a little

Vardy is the best bet for value if we want a ruck/forward. I don't just dislike Vickery I don't rate him at all, can't mark overhead and is terrible at ground level. At least Vardy we'd give up very little.
Seems like a good option, age is good and is a good player if he gets himself right. With Smith there he is surely on the outer. Any ideas what he'd be worth in a trade?

Nankervis would fit in beautifully in our new system. He's hard as nails. I'm picturing him smashing opposition defenders and leaving Jeffy, Kent and Trac to scavenge the mess left behind :D

Looks like that's it for Dawesy, confirmed that Pedo is being offered a contract extension.

This makes my love for Pedo even greater. Came to the club as part of the moneyball gang while Dawes came with bigger fanfare and $$$ as a CHF to team with Mitch Clark. After round 1 Pedo was hung out to the wolves for his ducking effort and every melbourne supporter wanted him delisted.
After that incident he has put his head down and worked his absolute ass off and actually play an important role these last 3 years where's Dawes has been a complete disappointment and hardly done anything on field.

After the 2012 trade period we brought in Chris Dawes, Shannon Byrnes, Tom Gillies, David Rodan and Cam Pedersen. Out of all those Players it will be Cam who has done extremely well to still have 5 years on our list.

Saw an article tonight that the Suns don't want Breust as part of the Jaeger deal, but the Hawks may still offer him up as part of a complicated deal.

Breust would be brilliant for us. Goal-kicking, hard tackling mid-sized forward who slides into the midfield. Just about to turn 26.

Agree.. Doubt we can afford him though?

He would be great at MFC. We'd have to give up something/someone that the Suns want. Sure a Garland/Dunn spare parts might help, but if we really wanted Bruest and to be involved in the deal I think the only person we could give up that they would want is Salem.

I'd rather keep him, I think, but Bruest would be great. Definitely food for thought.

Hard tackling? WTF?? Do Hawthorn have two Luke Breust's on their list?

Maybe its just me but i dont rate the bloke whatsoever. Reckon he is one of, if not the most overrated players in the AFL.

Agree more with ADP on Breust. Wouldn't go as far to say he's one of the most overrated players going, he's handy, but I feel he falls into the category of okay player with a simple role in an awesome team. Playing HFF with the Hawks over the past few years has been a pretty cruisy gig and although he'd be good for us as an extra goalkicker (not sure about the defensive side of his game or ability to run through the middle much) I don't think he'd be worth what we'd have to give up. No from me.
