Slightly annoying that we aren't linked to any of the departing Giants players. Most are high draft picks with a couple of years in the system under their belt and looking for opportunity so ready to make an immediate impact.

Unless you want a decent player going the other way, we don't have much to offer if this Hibberd lark pans out.

Still think Melbourne made the right decision trading away our pick last year.

Its kind of nice to not be so focused on the draft, bring in Hibberd hopefully and a couple of late picks. We've done well with finding some gems in O mac and Hunt, hopefully we can do that again this year.

From 5 draft picks we have grabbed 7 players, 5 of whom are best 22. Considering those 5 picks had 2 firsts which we didn't actually surrender, we've really gotten a steal.

Would it be worth trading next yrs first for a couple of gcs 2nd rounders to be able to brind in hibberd and make a play for a player and still bring a pick in the 20s to the draft? Dont really like our first pick being in the 40s

Good post, I find it hard to judge players that have struggled with injury so early in their careers especially Key positions. Find that they already need a few years put into them and even then its hard to tell if they'll be handy players or not.

He seemed to play alright against us in round 1 this year but you'd want him pretty cheap and tbh i'm happy we aren't entering a bidding war for him. Agree that the GWS players we have gotten have all turned out well, our scouting group is doing a great job to find some gems. Quietly confident that if we're not active for them then there is something not quite right.

I know that, but we still have future picks up our sleeve. I'm probably more just annoyed at reading these players going to clubs around us on the ladder which will improve them. Here's hoping we grow organically and Hibberd and Melksham make an immediate impact for us.

I can't think of Rory Taggert without thinking of Josh Tynan. And for some reason that takes me to James Strauss. Naturally, Sam Blease is next.

Saints list for the most part is in the contention bracket for age/games played. I really don't get the up and coming narrative with them.
