Would hate to lose Dunn for pick 70, as people are suggesting, though understand it if we look after him and essentially treat him as a free agent.

Also means Garland stays, and my love affair lasts a little longer.

If Dunn went north I wouldn't hold it against him at all. Trades like this (even if it didn't net us a particularly favourable pick) can do wonders for club relationships in the long run; not to mention giving Dunny a second chance rather than a total shafting.

Sadly picks 12 and 19 haven't resulted in elite talent, you have to go back 8 years to get someone elite.

I don't want lower value multiple picks or depth players like Hibberd in exchange for an elite talent like Hogan. We need someone who will be a top 5 player and play for 10 years. The chance of getting that with that stated trade is remote and history supports that.

I'm steadfast on my thoughts that we must keep one of these two. Good players don't become bad overnight despite their inability to perhaps adjust to a new game plan, and if Frost/O Mac/T Mac suffered a seriosu injury and we had traded these two away, as well as delisted Pedo, I'd be filthy.

I would float Dunny & Col on the open market, and whichever gives us a better trade option is the one we let go. If Brisbane offer 70 for Dunny, I'd be looking to get a 35-50 for Col instead and keeping Lynden.

Dunn would be a great pick up for us, would be very happy if we could get Garland too. They're both very good footballers that would be massive for our young back line. Think if we came to the table with pick 28 for both that would be a fair outcome.

And Hanley and it's a deal

I'd be happy with pick 28 for both. But with Hanley would be pretty good. Doubt Brisbane would trade him away.
Would still like to keep Dunn though #DunnOrRiot

I must have missed the news where Motlop and Hartlett announced that they want to come to Melbourne

I also must have missed the bit where Geelong and Port were happy to trade those two, for those picks.

Pull up mate nobody said they were coming but having all the early picks would obviously present us with more opportunity at the trade table.

Bizarre sando, that's exactly what that post was suggesting, hence my reply. And not sure how you equate picks 12 and 19 as 'all the early picks'.

Don't understand the disappointment at landing a bloke who will almost instantly be one of the best kicks in our side and has a crack.

This has been done to death but I'll reply anyway, Hibberd hasn't consistently produced that level of kicking since 2014.

I hope I'm wrong, and as soon as he runs out wearing a Melbourne jumper I'll jump on the bandwagon and robustly debate that he is an elite player capable of jumping tall buildings blah blah blah, I just think it's a big risk considering everything that has happened to him over the last 3 years. I feel the same way about Melksham.

I know the majority of demon fans here feel differently, I don't have an issue with that at all.

Yeah completely agree - we should keep one. I'd prefer to keep Dunny, as he's a genuine KPD, while we have a few third tall defenders/flankers in Hibberd (most likely), Salem, Wagner, H (if he plays on), Harmes and Grimes, if he stays.

You're not the only one mate. I'm very worried about this trade, as if expected we give up our second rounder. As I was worried with the Milkshakes trade too.

Both have a lot to prove next year, and of course I'm praying they prove me (and you) wrong.

I agree, and Dunny will have less currency than Garlo so the combination of those two reasons means that for mine, he stays. He's probably on less freight than Col as well.

Hibberd deal will go down the same way the Crameri deal went down.

We'll meet with you.
You'll offer your second rounder.
We'll ask about a player.
You'll stick with the second rounder.
We'll accept that's your best offer but hold off on hitting the trigger in case there's a way we can bounce into a trade with a third party (potentially Hogan in this case but seriously hope he sticks with you)
Bigfooty will meltdown about how difficult Dodoro is being.
The trade will then get done.

Bonce...is your little caption with the numbers designed to annoy me?
