A grain of salt as in 10,000,000,000kg of salt.
They pretty supportively shipped Milkshake off to us as quickly as they could when we somehow offered them pick 25Is always the case yeah?

I'm going by an article written in the hun about 3 weeks ago and it says essendon would demand a first round pick which we definitely don't have. He's certainly not worth that if we had that. What we do have is second round but that's it, I wouldn't be trading any young player ie salem for someone that's 27 next year. I wouldn't mind losing pick 27 if the club somehow managed to trade bavk in a first round pick. But having no picks in the first 2 rounds is dubious.Jeez i'll be pissed if we give up our 2nd rounder or a player like Salem for a 27yo B grader having already traded our first. Taylor hasn't put a foot wrong with drafting so far, give him a decent pick in a deep draft please.

Might be going against the grain, but I'd hate to see us have three ex-essendon players take up spots in our backline in 2017. Sort of thing can fracture a playing group have a new coach bring his pets over to his new club. You'd imagine Hibberd and Hurley would be asking top dollar as well. Yeah it'd be great to have Hurley but I just can't take that the three best answers to our backline troubles all happen to be players that Goodwin has coached. Smacks of nepotism in a way.
I've seen this stuff before with Mick and Daisy, Ross and Zac, even our own Mark Neeld and Iron Hands. I'm skeptical to say the least.

Sounds like we're aiming to be the next RichmondI think go gangbusters. Trade the 2nd out for Hibberd. Potentially trade the 3rd for Griffiths or Campbell. Bring in blokes who can perform a role we lack.

Gee you blokes would have to give something big to get Hurley.
Would you accept Petracca + Brayshaw + Gawn + Oliver + Watts + Hogan + Salem + Viney + Tyson + Stretch + Kent + McDonald?

Jake Spencer is 203cm, he should do then.Gee you blokes would have to give something big to get Hurley.
I honestly don't reckon we will. I have said before that I think he will stay but it all comes down to how angry the players are at the club. I have heard that Hibberd is furious and was never a chance at returning, but nothing on Hurley. The really interesting one is Jobe. This saga still has a little way to go yet. By the way, I am not saying we should go after Jobe, just that he is the most low key of them all.Gee you blokes would have to give something big to get Hurley.
That's the name I was going to mention when you asked the question above. Am sure he'll be on the radar for a few teams - kinda surprised he didn't get taken by anyone last year.
Kinda plays the Rory Lobb role - around 3/4 of his game time in the forward line and 1/4 in the ruck.
Would throw a late pick at him for sure.
Otherwise the only other WAFL player who could play a similar role I can think of is Mason Shaw (ex Port player) - but he's not as tall and doesn't ruck as often (only averaging 2.5 hitouts per game this year).
Nah we'll have him as a DFA since you injected him with illegal drugs, unbeknown to him. He'd be livid. AFLPA have stated they will support this route of changing clubs.Gee you blokes would have to give something big to get Hurley.
Salem is no good
Kent, would not know who he was if he popped out of my cornflakes.

Think the eagles nearly drafted him. Would love us to look into him.
And a campaigner.it's exactly what Mitch Clark would be doing for us if he wasn't perpetually injured (and then depressed).
Sorry for the intrusion, just curious as to what you lot see as Melbourne's needs at this stage of the rebuild?
I know at Saints we have covered pretty much everything just need a classy A grade mid and potentially another 3rd tall in defence.
Looking at your list (whilst I try to watch the Dee's as much as possible, I obviously don't watch every week so don't crucify me) but seems as though the holes in your 22 are pretty easily fill able.
Midfield is mouth watering (scary for us Saints fan), plenty of A grade potential mids there.
The McDonalds look more then capable of holding down KPD posts for the next few years. Smalls/generals look solid both ends of the ground, especially with the inclusion of Hibberd. Also really liked the look of Vandenberg up forward on the weekend.
Would I be right assuming that the main needs would be a 2nd ruck for depth, KPF (or backing Weideman?).
Cheers

I dont care who gets Hibberd and Hurley - just as long as they walk out and the Bombers get nothing![]()
