Talk in Perth has really picked up around Nat Fyfe. The rumour that he's not well liked amongst the playing group is Getting stronger and stronger by the day. By all reports if he does leave it will be to Victoria.

Not saying it's going to happen at all but how funny would it be given the Hogan situation and all the crap posted by Freo supporters if
1) Jesse signs a new long term deal
2) Nat Fyfe requests a trade to Melbourne

Unless we're trading Brayshaw, Petracca, or Oliver, we don't really have the trade currency to get Fyfe this year. Next year maybe if the Dockers cave to unders like Adelaide did when Dangerfield came OOC.

He's a Free Agent next year, no trade required ... The only sticking point is if he's Restricted or Unrestricted. You'd imagine he'd be one of their top earners so likely Restricted, but given the way their luck is going at the moment, maybe his contract is heavily front ended, and he becomes unrestricted like what happened with Chip a few years back.

Haha. There's also the "he can just come to us when he's out of contract." Generally I then drop a reminder of their placing on the ladder and they don't have a comeback after that...

I understand. Also a Gawn -> Fyfe Tyson Viney Petracca Oliver Brayshaw Jones Hunt midfield group with Watts and Hogan as targets...aaahhhh. We could even just play Fyfe as a second or third tall.

Haha I feel bad hating on Freo because as a rule I'd much rather put up with them than Eagles supporters. They are just arrogant pricks while Freo supporters are more 'special'.

I honestly don't. Stayed the hell away from stating it on here though.
- The cost will be mega. Absolutely mega.
- Fyfe offers us something we have a lot of - inside brilliance. He's brilliant as that inside/out type, but lurking across the forward line he's not as good.
- I don't want us to throw out our wage structure by chasing him.

If we make finals next year I can see us making an offer, but I don't know that it'll happen. Think the Saints will make a massive play for him, but I don't know if he'll go there.

No one on our list comes close to offering what Fyfe does. Our list is building nicely but they are all along way from being A graders let alone superstars of the competition. If he played as a permanent forward he would have Watts covered easily as our 2nd key position forward behind Jesse.

Hard to compare Gawn to our midfielders but agree he is definitely A grade. Viney and Tyson are probably our best two midfielders but I still think Fyfe is a completely unique player that can plays both inside and outside at an elite level. I'd lock him in the middle alongside those two and throw Petracca in the forward line.

If things were continue to go pear shaped in WA and he looked at joining and building a premiership at a Victorian placed club and we have a good year in '17 then anything could happen. I mean Prestia just nominated Richmond... who saw that coming?

Fyfe is (was??) an incredible overhead mark and a contested beast.

I'm not sold on Prestia. Has a lot of talent but I think there is a particular type of club that would get the best from him. Tigers run too much on emotion and not enough on solid systems. I think he'd do well in a more professional club like sydney, adelaide or hawthorn.
