The most incredible part is how many of the 2013 Melbourne side are getting a game too.
Joel Macdonald

How good was Joel Mac though? I used to love watching post Brisbane veteran run around being a general in the defence.
Anyone else remember Joel Macdonald.

Wait, im not saying sell the farm to get him or anything like that, im looking for decent value (buy low) that could be useful to us.

Something like next years third rounder would be all im willing to give up.

Put it this way, id rather Murdoch on a cheap contract for a third rounder than Brad Hill on 600K plus for a late first.

Yeah, thats a fair call. I'd rather Murdoch than M Jones as well. The worry with Murdoch is he averages 12.93 disposals over his career.

Wouldn't quite call him a general, was just a good average player.

We haven't actually had a live pick in the second round since 2011 (Rory Taggert lol).

If memory serves correct - Dawes, part of the Tyson / Salem / Kelly deal, Lumumba, Melksham. Not anything to write home about...

The only one of note wasn't even a pick to start with. Thanks Col and Adelaide!

This is how Melbourne's trade week is going to go...

"Ok, we'll offer you our second rounder, Max Gawn's beard trimmings, weekly visits with Goody's Wife..."

"What does she look like?.... No."

"What about a list of all of Bernie Vince's former dealers?

"Current Dealers"

"Done"

Good luck guys...
Your in for the long run now
You're*
And, they're not dealing with the Saints are they?
All our other trades have gone through smoothly, you'll see that it's Ameet who's hard to deal with, not Dodoro.
Ameet tried to pay unders, got schooled by Dodoro, and looked like an amateur. The Melksham trade went through without a hitch, because Melbourne are like Hawthorn, they pay for something they want. The second rounder will be it, and it will be done as probably the first trade.

Awesome. There is some kind of Saints Bombers shit fight that has moved to our board. That's pretty convenient because I usually go out of my way searching them out.
Just what I've always wanted

with our backline our biggest weak spot IMO i reckon the addition of Hibberd will be great but i think we also need to draft a tall shut down defender as well... I really like the looks of Jack Maibaum, will go somewhere and in the 30s and is an u18 AA full back

I think we should steer clear of U18 AA key position players. Just a feeling!

I'd argue that after Sunday, our backline has been our strongest line the last month by a margin.

We should put all of JKH Trenners Dawes Garland Dawes on the trade table and see if we can somehow scunge some picks in the late 30s to 40s

Something like Dunn and our 3rd for the dogs second would be good
id love that trade but why would the dogs want dunn?

I like that you're trading Dawes twice ...

I don't think we have any real weak points anymore only luxuries
Every sides supporters in the AFL want more outside run and class but it's honestly over rated
We can move the footy bloody quickly with what we have already
All we need to do is find some guys like stretch who are smart footballers and work them into our system

id love that trade but why would the dogs want dunn?

They probably don't, but a good one on one defender could still have value in certain systems especially when Dunn can stop the big power forwards
GWS maybe are another who could use it

I dunno if can see Grimes/dunn/michie/garl having much weight at the trade table the only ones who i can see having something to offer is JKH and ANB

Worsfold article on AFL.com is saying that he wants an early second round pick for Hibberd and our 27 (now) won't be enough.

Mmmm ...

Last year, all we had was #24, which was too much for Melksham, but we did it to get the deal done.

This year, all we have is #27, which isnt enough for Hibberd, so hopefully they do it to get the deal done.

There is really little difference between an early 20's pick and a late 20's pick, odds are, who you wanted at 23 will still be there at 27.

You would think so.

Didn't we quire that pick via trade and then on trade it to Essendon for milkshakes

We have no need to so it because Salems required but on a value basis it seems about right
Really?
Before we've even really seen what he can be?
I respectfully disagree. If it came to that (which I'm sure it won't), I'd rather see us persist with Salem than take Hibberd for him.
