Maybe we could trade next years first to goldcoast or GWS for 1 of there firsts this year to trade to port cause im pretty sure port would want a 1st from this year to get some talent in

Yeah noone should judge on NEAFL form. Was up in canberra for work for a few days, and was talking to a bloke in the office who plays full back in the NEAFL. Was mid 30s, said he was lucky to make 1 training a week, went to the gym a few other days, and was picked every weekend. Said he had played on some big name players and gotten absolutely destroyed every time
There's an article on the afl site that says exactly that. They want the picks for the upcoming draft. I'm not sure if port need to go down this path. But looking at ports list Hamish hartlett seems to be the best fit for trading in high draft pick(s)Maybe we could trade next years first to goldcoast or GWS for 1 of there firsts this year to trade to port cause im pretty sure port would want a 1st from this year to get some talent in

Yeah Hinkley needs to make the 8 next year so not sure i would be trading out 1 of their stars so something must be up to want to trade him out in a make or break year. There's an article on the afl site that says exactly that. I would think so considering they're losing prestia and have plenty of picks.Yeah Hinkley needs to make the 8 next year so not sure i would be trading out 1 of their stars so something must be up to want to trade him out in a make or break year.
I reckon GCS would be down for that trade as well as they have so many high picks this year already.
Reckon Hartlett would be a good get. 4 years left on his contract is no different to what we are offering Hibberd. Comes with experience and leadership with plenty of footy still ahead of him, outside ball usage is what we need and a bonus that Hartlett isn't soft. The way we got Bernie Vince to turn up his career I'd back our coaching staff to get the best out of Hartlett in his prime years.
Its not so much the length of the contract that scares me its the amount of money he is on for the remaining four years, ive heard around 750K per year! Madness! Would have to bring that down to 600ish at least for it to be worthwhile.
We could easily afford to front load the first 2 years you would think though, if we lost Dawes, Dunn, Grimes that's over a million plus Garland and Trenners maybe next year could be as much as 2 million total
Id still want Port paying some of it, they are the ones putting him up for trade him after signing him last year.
For me it wouldn't break the deal If they refused to but if we can do it then shit yeah, I don't feel like he's shown an ability to stand up in big games but he's more Vince than Sylvia and he can get brownlow votes for fun when on form
Jarryd Lyons is still unsigned, has performed pretty well this year.

We're still being linked to Tom Campbell. My guess would be Downie and Nankervis we'd also have in frame. No idea who Downie is.
It's weird, it's a brave trade but it's not like they're doing a major rebuild. I don't think getting rid of one player for a pick in the draft will do anything.Has Hartlett been injured? Seems a bit Hartless from port to get rid of him after one bad year.

Campbell is basically Spencer. An OK ruck and pretty hopeless forward. Big no from me. We need a 80/20 forward/ruck, not 20/80.
