Would be interesting to see us upgrade a first year rookie who hasn't played a senior game and is presumably still contracted. If it happens the club must really be rating his chances to play a fair chunk of senior games next year.

I wouldn't be surprised, he's rated very highly. It's a big move, but I think it's a good one

I can't help but feel that we did a bit of a dodgy with Joel, told him to keep playing basketball for a little bit longer so we could pick him up for free. Not that I'm complaining.

Also, back to Hibberd and would you be willing to offer Essendon next year's 2nd and this year's 3rd in exchange for this year's 4th and Hibberd? Just so we keep a 2nd this year, and give them a bit of extra change to say thanks.

No, I said anybody can post what they want, but if they work at a footy club and have access to privileged information that they shouldn't post that, or tell people off who are wrong, or mention that they know something or can't say. It's pretty farken simple, and it's also a good way to ensure you don't fly anywhere near anti-corruption policies if you have boundaries you know you wouldn't cross on a forum, e.g. releasing team selection information.

I think what he was originally referring to was in the Geelong preview thread where you said there could be some real surprise ins but couldn't say who.

Kaiden Brand, 22 year old 198cm key defender from Hawthorn could be a good target for us.

He's been struggling with his contract negotiation and we have been mentioned as interested. Not sure what his trade value would be.

Zac Clark from Freo could be a good free agent for us as well. Would give us someone other the Spencer who could back up Gawn, whilst Mitch King recovers from injury and take a few years to develop.

Don't think either are a key need for us. Brand is an OK key defender but isn't great with kicking (the two Macs and Frost aren't great either, so we need blokes who can kick down back).

Clark is a real battler in the ruck and is absolutely hopeless as a forward. I agree we need back-up for Gawn but I think we need someone who can play as a forward effectively too.

If we picked up Zac Clarke I'd almost reconsider renewing my membership next year. The guy is not AFL standard. I thought he'd played enough games for the 17 other clubs to work that out.

Apparently we are weighing up to hit this draft hard or go in with as little picks as possible (offsetting draft picks with James Kelly & Matt Dea, upgrading Tippa).

We are desperate for a young key forward and up to 8 havw been named as likely 2017 draft candidates, so they are there for next year.

Could see this as a possibility giving you guys a prescence early in the 2016 draft.
