Slow.
Lacks penetration in kicking.
Offers **** all defensively.
Turns 31 early next season.

I mean no offence to the guy he has been a pretty good player, but it'd go against everything we did last year in regards to selection.

Exactly. We need pace. Very interested in a 27 yr old Lewis, not a 31 yr old Lewis. He should go to Collingwood. Buckley is likely to give him a 4 yr contract at 500k!

Was nice to actually be included in trade week though, even if it was for only a few hours. Proves that we are actually there..

Yeah I liked that feeling. That decent players would seriously contemplate Melbourne seems a step in the right direction.

Well if you believe the rumours there is a lot of anger at players coming in (Frawley, Vickery, Mitchell and O'Meara's reported sum) and earning 200-300k more than others on the list. Apparently players like Lewis believe they should buy into the culture of less is more like they all had to.

If I was one of the old guard and Vickery came in and was earning anywhere near the same or more than me, I'd be pretty pissed too.

This Lewis to Melbourne thing just seems like a rag tail being peddled to fill the empty spaces between trades.

I assume so, don't know too many other Rivaldos. The one that had a ball kicked in to his shin by a Turkish player and went down clutching his face. Could play though.

He's Brazilian, so fair chance he wasn't tucked in bed with a soda water and a good book by 9 of the clock.

Yeah I was just being silly, his going down clutching his face was pretty much the standard for him. I can remember his teammates when he played for Brazil asking him to tone it down. So you know he must of been pretty bad.

He pretty much represents everything bad on field for Soccer which I am loathe to see in the AFL. Thankfully, we only have a few players like that and the umpires seem to get onto "simulation" type players pretty quick.

**** St Kilda. Why aren't we still raiding GWS for blokes like Tomlinson, Marchbank, Haynes, Ahern, Buntine, Corr, etc? Steele for a second rounder is a ****ing...steal. Maybe we don't need too many more midfielders but GWS have a ridiculous excess of KPP, and particularly defenders.

I'm happy if we get Lewis, btw. I actually reckon he'll provide a bit of class for us, and him 'taking' a spot of a young kid won't overly hurt our development.

I just want it to be on our terms though, and not because Hawthorn think they're doing us a favour.

Agree.

I don't know why there is any resistance. Lewis is a gun!

And having our young mids spending time up forward is a luxury not a hindrance. Just look at Heeney's progression so far.

We don't have any currency to get these players unless we give up players or pull out on the Hibberd trade. Nobody wants guys that can't get a game, I mean we played a 20 year old KPD over the likes of Dunn and Garland and a 19 year old KPF over Dawes, not too mention our vanilla midfielders will all be delisted so teams can probably snap them up for free if they really want too.

Guys Like Steele and Marchbank have nominated teams aswell which always limits our bargining power. Haynes and Corr are contracted till 2018, Buntine and Tomlinson till the end end of 2017. Only one out of contract is Ahern and he's done 2 knees already I get where you're coming from but next year is the time to raid some of these guys.
