Yep. As would I. Dunn got dropped because he 'didn't adapt well to the diamond defence' or some bollocks.

Then proceeded to look like Matthew Scarlett in every Casey game, playing as the point on the diamond defence..

Guy is a legend.... can torp it 60m off one step, and as a tagger committed this legendary piece of awesomeness...

I can't believe we got a bloke who got 40 odd disposals in his last finals outing for basically nothing
While not being overly damaging Lewis Is a very nice kick of the footy and he know how to find the ball with ease
That and with him basically being a stoppage coach and all around calming influence on the ground I can't ****ing believe we got him for nothing
Pros
- Very strong 1on1 without being overly tall
- Generally a solid and very long kick
- Smart defender, makes up for his lack of pace with good bodywork and positioning

Cons
- REALLY slow
- isn't really an intercept mark player
- Is prone to the occasional overly aggressive brainfade

Dunn will improve Collingwoods back line, wouldn't surprise me at all if he gave hogan a bath on queens birthday

All in all, its been an extremely diverting trade period - I expected it to be pretty quiet and 'meh' from Demons point of view given we have known about the Hibberd thing for some time now.

Looking back, I entered the period a week before slightly nervous about the Hogan thing - turns out we get a virtually free Jordan Lewis, presumably Hibberd for something or other plus the opportunity to observe some truly hilarious blustering Hawks on Bigfooty. Good times.

I'm looking forward to next year like nothing else - hell, I'm looking forward to going home in 15 minutes when I plan to treat myself to a replay of the Hawks match.

Hibberd deal hasnt progressed. Still a stand off over this year or next years 2nd rounder. Would rather give this years than miss out entirely.

Why next years? Wouldn't that be a downgrade if you're feeling finals are a now a chance after a successful trade period?

Because if we were going after rockliff with our first from next year we would have had to give your this years 2nd for Hibberd. We expect to climb the ladder again next year so next years 2nd will be a less valuable pick if everything goes to plan.

o_O

Exactly. You've just reiterated my exact point, next year's is a less valuable pick. Why would we want that?

As for Rockliff, it's my understanding he's a lecherous gobshite all clubs do not want. I can't see Melbourne wanting someone like that at their club.
Why spoil what has been an amazing draft year?

Yeah there was a rumour but apparently we dont want him.. so its in our best interests to try and get Hibberd for next years second even though he is worth this years.

Well now Melbourne are just being #hardtodealwith ;)

It's just about keeping a semi reasonable pick and not having to take a complete gamble on a kid with pick 57.

We're no doubt just trying to do what's best for the club in the long run, I'm confident we'll blink first and you'll get 29, but you can't blame us for trying.

I thought it didn't matter if you're hard to deal with as long as you get the best deal for your club ;)

And that's exactly it isn't it? These list managers have to do the best thing for the club at the end of the day (Hawthorn withstanding:eek::D).

I hope both clubs come to an agreement soon though and would love to see hibbo play for you guys. Well done today!

That is some terrible umpiring. Not only does he make a horrible decision on the 2nd report but telling him to walk away, how about you shut the **** up and worry about your own game umpire?

I hate how umpires think they can tell players what to do. Shut the **** up and officiate the game.

No, just typical Essendon not reacting to the state of the market. Why would we give you our second rounder when we can give it to Hawthorn and get half a Premiership team in return? #daftBombers

Yes, exactly. Hate umpires who act like they're principals at the local elementary school... which is probably all of them once they reach AFL level.

And some here suggested that getting ****ing Brent Harvey for a year might be good... yuck.

Oh..... well Essenscum can have next years 2nd rounder then!
Hibberd is still happy to stay at Essendon if a deal cannot be worked out. So I'd rather keep him than a second rounder in the 30s next year.

In all honesty, pick 29 is unders and more than fair for Hibberd, even favouring you guys.

I agree. Will happen if Essendon are steadfast I recon!

I wont be disappointed if we use pick 29. But our list managers will try and get next years 2nd round across the line because if not our current first selection in the draft will be at 57 if we trade pick 29 haha

Got Lewis for peanuts and sent their board into a meltdown so it's worth it ;)

What about pick 29 and 68 for Hibberd and 59. points wise it means Hibberd is worth about pick 33

Then on trade 59 and Dunn for collingwoods 47 which rates Dunn about pick 59

Then next years first and 57 to gold coast for our first back (8). which works out to be worth pick 10 point wise

So then we go into draft with pick 8,47 while picking up Hibberd and Lewis and losing next years 1st and 29 and some other shit.
It was all a dream
