What is Cutthroat Fantasy?
- 12 starters, zero bench. Thus, mayhem and cutthroat nature of waivers, bye weeks, injuries, etc.
- If you make a claim, you move to last in waiver order, and it rolls on week to week. Adds strategy to the waiver wire, where holding a higher waiver order is good to recoup a player coming off bye, injury, etc.
- See position limits in league settings. Optional tactics for starting various combinations of RB/WR/TE.
- Scoring is such that for the most part, all positions are treated and valued fairly equally, making the draft and waivers interesting.
- To view values of players rankings, go to league page, click PLAYERS tab, and view how they scored in 2015 to get a gauge.
- Due to ESPN's site flaws, and position limits, there is a loophole where people can store a bye player or extra WR/LB on the 'bench', and leave a starting position empty -- called BenchGate. If anyone is found doing it, they will be severely punished: stripped of points, player, result.
- As a hard-fast rule then...all people must ensure they have all 12 starting slots filled.
- Note: when you acquire a player, the ESPN flaw leaves the player on your 'bench', so always be mindful to check your team page before the NFL games start, moving players from the 'bench' to the starters.
How to Conduct the Draft?
- Draft starts July 1st at the latest, earlier if people want to.
- When it's your turn to pick, post in this thread the player and position, tag the next person up, go to the spreadsheet link above, and edit in the player you drafted in the board section, and then also in the squads section. If you cannot do this, please someone else do it whenever you see the board/squads needs updating.
- The spreadsheet updates automatically whenever it is edited, no saving etc required.
- Trading is allowed during draft, please post the details in this thread, and leave it to GG.exe to update the spreadsheet.
- No discussion whatsoever in the draft board thread, leave it to the Cutthroat discussion thread.
