When Trump starts tweeting out rubbish from white genocide believers, the line becomes very blurred. When the KKK and David Duke and US nazi party enthusiastically supports him, the line becomes very blurred.
It's pretty clear that the far right have taken the Trump win as endorsement of their decades long victimisation complex.

perhaps you and you're ilk should stop insulting people then there wouldn't be as much of a rebellious nature to these things.
I've not insulted anyone. It's my observation that many who voted for Trump did not understand just how many times the guy misled them with inaccuracy or downright dishonesty. And they didn't understand they were being lied to because they didn't understand what he was even talking about. And yes, I believe those who fit this catagorey can be referred to as dummies and that I have a right to interpret them in this way.

There was one poster earlier in this thread telling someone else they should look at an American tax law called Capital Gains and how Trump was going to shut down this loophole that every wealthy business person in America was taking advantage of. I mean holy crap! What an example of someone lapping up the personality cult with no clue as to the issue even being discussed.

your view of them being idiots is one that is shared by media...and they voted against it.

this vote took the form of Donald trump. the bigger idiot he was the more effective he was as an FU.

I realise the election was won by people staying home - they already hated Hillary and then she got caught up in spirit cooking pedo stuff to boot.

and Donald is well...Donald.

but none the less the people that feel disenfranchised - the ones constantly being called idiots, racists, sexists etc - were enough to get Donald trump in.

perhaps you and you're ilk should stop insulting people then there wouldn't be as much of a rebellious nature to these things.

this pattern was played out during the goodes booing saga too.
How do they reverse it though?

The problem is people like Trump and Hanson and co. can appeal to the prejudices of the great unwashed and convince them that ignoring global warming and stopping illegal immigrants and reducing taxes alone will improve their lives which obviously it won't. Reducing taxes is self serving for the elite and the rest is irrelevant except for the minor detail that global warming will ruin the planet. So essentially Trumps big promise means he really doesn't have to do that much.

What can the left actually do? They are not going to wind back globalisation. They do not reduce taxes. All they do is protect things like healthcare and social security which is completely taken for granted anyway and bang on about education which the people they need to vote for them hardly care about or the environment which gets completely dismissed at the first turn or matters like gay marriage which while some people might think are important really don't matter that much. So what are they actually offering? What is the left selling?

Of the all the issues that people think decided the election;

Race - surely there are not enough people that care
Gay marriage - not enough people that care
Climate change - not enough people that care highlighted by the fact that no government ever has to actually do something about it
Women's rights - not enough people that care highlighted by the fact Trump can have that video released and still get in

Academically it might be good, socially it might be responsible, morally it might be correct, but ultimately the great unwashed do not give a shit about the platform of the left

What do you guys think about Trey Gowdy being attorney-general?
Given his political driven investigations that focused less on finding evidence of wrong doing but driving political witch hunts, i'd be concerned.

I'd seriously doubt he'd stand up to Trump if he asked him to take action that was inappropriate like the AG and Deputy did when Nixon went postal, and the Saturday Night Massacre happened.

This is what the silent majority REALLY looks like. From the Washington Post:
Silent majority? You've got to be shitting me referring to Trump supporters as either silent or a majority. They are neither. The silent majority are all those who boycotted the polls. Let's be realistic about it at least shall we.

What a fantastic result for America, I'm so pleased that the people of the US stood up against crooked hillary and showed that they were not going to be happy just falling further down as a country.
Trump may not be the saviour in the end but at least they are trying to make things better by endorsing change.

Love the Trump!!

I like how they also continue to say "majority" when they lost the popular vote. I don't think they know what majority means.

Actually that is not a lot, apparently at one time there was 1.5 m visa overstayers living in Australia in 2012. Of course this is when Labor was transparent and in government, who knows how many are floating around now.
At least they know where they are in the US.
Most the overstayers here are English so News Corp don't care and bogans are oblivious. Be a different ******* story if they were from 'Other' countries.

Too arrogant. You should watch this. The collective of this size cannot be dumb. Calling them dumb shows how stupid you are. Watch this video, its not that long but well worth watching.

Did you even read the article?

The woman clearly shows how she was a silent supporter.

50m+ people voted for each candidate, off course not all were loud and proud about their vote, and yes some muslims/POC/LGBT people voted for Trump, just like some white working class/lower educated/racists voted for Hillary. It does not mean there is a "majority" sitting out there, they are exceptions to the rules.

My wife was beginning to see all sorts of stuff on wechat re: backlash against migrants in the usa yesterday

Its been a shock for them because many chinese migrants thought they were excluded from the trump stuff
During his campaign, Trump really pumped up the finger pointing, laying the blame for America's lack of industrial competitiveness at the feet of Chai-Na. And his election seems to have encouraged anti-Chinese sentiment among a segment of the population that's now spilling over into the streets. I'm hearing of stuff that wasn't ever happening before his election win.
