I checked the Tashkent fields to see if Celik was there as has to be one of the easier tournaments to get a tour win, no Celik to be found but another first round exit for Schmiedlova :oops:
just checked Schmieds' live ranking. it is now down to 150th. she is nearly at Celiks ranking now. at least Schmieds is winning sets now. but if she continues at this rate, her ranking wont be high enough to even make it to qualifying for Hobart. my dream is vanishing before my eyes.

Celik is ranked 165th and hasnt played since the US Open qualifiers. she played last year in Australia on October so perhaps she plans to defend those points this year. who knows. her aim is surely to make it to the Aus Open Qualies.

She finished last year at #26. Such a brutal drop in less than 12 months.
