Salford City (as people may remember we’re bought out by Ryan giggs, Gary + Phil Neville, Phil scholes and Nicky butt) only need 1 more point (or Harrogate town to drop one) from their last 2 games to secure promotion to the conference national.

Didn't know you two were in the same league. That would be an interesting match to say the least. Local engagement vs Corporate investment.

Also Accrington Stanley (AKA my favourite punching bags on FIFA) have been promoted to League 1 for the first time in their history. Bar a miracle we'd be playing them for the first time in our league history. As long as the franchise go down (more than likely) and Blackburn don't go up I might enjoy next season if we're not financially ruined.

Congratulations to Accrington Stanley for their promotion to League 1. One of the smallest clubs in the EFL, they have had an amazing run since losing to Carlisle in the New Year, 16-2-1 in their last 19 games.

Speaking of Carlisle, we need a miracle to make the playoffs now, 6pts outside with only 3 games to go.

And the league gave us two clubs Boxing Day/New Years day back to back
Salford have only dropped 25 points on the year, we took 5 of them in those two games.
Was back when we were right in the relegation fight too.

We’re not going down
We’re not going up
We’re fc United
We don’t give a f*ck

Secured safety overnight by beating York 1-0
And have still NEVER been relegated in our history

Our form under Tom greaves post Karl Marginson era was great. A few key signings and who knows next year. Who knows.
6th division right? Would love to see them be a professional club one day

Another scrappy 1-0 win for Wigan overnight (thanks again Will Grigg). Could have automatic promotion to the championship clinched this weekend.

Would be well deserved as well. Wigan have been the best side in League 1 this season, both for the cup run and the league form.

Shrewsbury have also impressed me - for a side with their squad and wage budget they've massively overachieved.

It'd be great to see you guys in the Football League one day. FC United, Wimbledon and Pompey are fantastic examples of what happens when fans come together for their club.

Would you mind staying in League 1 next season so I have a game to look forward to?

Would really prefer not too, although nothings quite guaranteed yet.

League 1 is interesting - there are some terrible teams in there mixed in with some reasonable quality.
There's about 8 teams in there I reckon are easily Championship quality. Makes for competitive seasons though

Peterborough could probably win 5-0 against Cardiff but follow that up with a 5-0 loss to Lincoln City. It's amazing how open the leagues below the PL are.

FC United will do well to survive the next couple of years let alone push ahead towards the league.

Last year for them has been a cluster* although from the looks most of the people responsible for putting the club in the mess it's in are gone.

4-1 win for FGR over Chesterfield surely keeps us up. Makes it tough for Chesterfield to escape now too, need to basically overcome a -19 GD on Morecambe which basically means they are down - read they haven't been out of the football league for nearly 110 years too which is going to be quite sad for them.

LEAGUE ONE

Bury were the first Football League team to be relegated, on 14 April
Wigan became the first of two teams to be promoted to the Championship after their 4-0 win over Fleetwood on Saturday.

Blackburn, Shrewsbury and Rotherham are assured of at least a play-off place.

The bottom four teams will be relegated to League Two. Bury were the first Football League team to suffer this fate after a 3-2 home defeat by Northampton on 14 April.

LEAGUE TWO
Leaders Accrington Stanley were promoted to League One for the first time in their history by beating Yeovil 2-0 on 17 April.

Luton guaranteed one of the other two promotion places by beating Carlisle on Saturday.

The next four teams will enter the play-offs. Wycombe are assured of at least a play-off place, along with Exeter and Notts County.

The bottom two teams will be relegated to the National League. Chesterfield are on the brink of going down as they are nine points adrift with three games to go and have an inferior goal difference.

NATIONAL LEAGUE
Macclesfield Town have been promoted to the English Football League after their win against Eastleigh crowned them National League champions.

Second-placed Tranmere will join five other teams in the play-offs.

The fourth and seventh-placed teams will meet in the first round of the play-offs, with the winners facing the second-placed side. Also in the first round, the fifth and sixth-placed teams play off for the right to face the third-placed side in the semi-finals. The two semi-final winners meet in the final, with the winners of that game promoted to the EFL.

The bottom four teams will be relegated, and replaced by the champions and play-off winners of the National League North and South divisions.

Salford City, co-owned by former Manchester United players Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville, Phil Neville, Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt since 2014, won the National League North.

Chester were the first team in England's top five divisions to be relegated when they lost 2-0 to Tranmere on 7 April, while Guiseley joined them after losing 1-0 at home to Barrow on 17 April. Torquay were the third team relegated after their 1-1 draw with Hartlepool on Saturday.

So looking at the table, FGR just need 1 more point from the final 3 games to be mathematically safe.

palmomagpie another win for Barnet too helps keep you alive. Looks like you have 2 very big winnable games against Morecambe (who you could potentially overtake should they not pick up any results in the final few games) and Chesterfield who might be mentally checked out if now they are effectively gone. Will be rooting for the Bees (and hoping we can nab that draw we need). :thumbsu:

Should be all good you'd hope! Hopefully we can beat Morecambe for both our sakes!

Our destiny is truly in our hands, our last 2 games against the team above us, and the team below us. Bloody Grimsby had to go and win though :( we'd be sitting 2 points from safety if they hadn't! Thanks for the support though. Going to be hard but gotta have faith in the lads! We're the most in form team in the bottom 6 having gotten 10 points from our last 6 games. Hopefully we keep that up. Should have brought in Martin Allen sooner , that Westley fella dragged us down badly

It's amazing how far Yeovil have fallen, I remember the euphoria of making the Championship but it's been a plummet since then.

Anyway, Wigan going up in style! The dreamer within is hoping for a double promotion into the PL again but reality would be happy with consolidating ourselves in the Championship for a few seasons.

Wow. What a weekend ahead of us for Barnet! Anything but a win for us over Chesterfield (24th) at home and a loss for Morecambe against Coventry will see us relegated.

Coventry are sitting 6th, 3 points and +2 goal difference clear of Mansfield Town. Mansfield play 14th placed Crawley at home, so would fancy their chances. So as a positive, that's going to keep Coventry honest against Morecambe. Praying to the football gods that everything goes our way!
